I thought I would attempt to make a mirror of the USMNT Fitness thread. So we can track injuries and such as the 2027 WWC starts to get bigger in the window.

Though I am realizing I am not 100% plugged in enough to do it. I will try, but I am sure I will make mistakes. Feel free to correct and update the thread at will.

I am going to try and track the entire pool from the Hayes era + the 2023 WC & 2024 OLY rosters. Players who are retired or with whom Hayes has had "the talk" with (a la Krueger) are excluded.

I know Dunn and Nighswonger have not been playing for club, but I believe both are healthy.

Rodman got dinged up in the NWSL Final, as did Hershfelt.

Well, I got thru players with more than 90 minutes and ran out of gas. I am sure I made mistakes. Will come back later and try to get thru the last dozen or so.

Age correction on Schrader, 22 not 26.

Just for updates on those on the list:

    • Hershfelt is obviously fine.
    • Rodman is back and healthy.
    • Wilson has been training in preseason camp with the Thorns, and I think she could be back in time for the start of the NWSL season and for SheBelieves.
    • Davidson has also been in training with Gotham. She didn't play in the Champions Cup game, nor was she even on the bench as a sub, but she looks to be back to running and even training with a ball, but maybe not contact yet. Maybe April or June she'll be back?
    • Hayes definitively said Swanson would not be ready by SheBelieves.

Will be watching Lavelle as she went off due to concussion protocol v. Corinthians. By SheBelieves, should be fine, but full fitness might be a different question depending on how long she's out.

    On the pregnancy front:

Not capped under Hayes: Sullivan & K. Mewis both gave birth in 2025.

Fringe/few Hayes caps: Hatch gave birth in January, Dahlkemper & Krueger still expecting, I think. Though Hayes has "the talk" with Krueger and she is out if the NT picture.

Wilson & Swanson both gave birth in 2025. Wilson back in training.

    Davidson back in training.

CB Alanna Cook still out after ACL/MCL last year.

And I believe WF Cooper was hurt last year and did not get a call into last camp.

But other than the pregnancy/maternity leaves, I think that is about it.

Macario has been injured (heel) since mid-Dec and thus has not been playing. Bompastor said couple days ago she's not available for this weekend. Cooper's been out with a foot injury since playoffs and still on SEI. As Shebelieves roster could come as soon as 2-3 week, I'm doubtful of their availability.

EDIT: deleted my original comment on Swanson's return but it was based on the fact that the NYT article I read was actually wrong. The NYT said Swanson said she'd be back for SheBelieves, but it was actually a quote by Wilson. That's the second time in the past week I've caught a factual error in a NYT article. Anyway, Swanson at NWSL Media day said she doesn't have an exact date for her return.

As a sidebar, I've noted small errors like that showing up more and more recently. AI maybe? Or reporters not being knowledgeable? Regardless, it has happened in a few different locations, and I'm not pleased.

Reale with an ankle injury, and out of SheBelieves but back with Gotham. Rodman fine.

Wilson is probably back for Japan in April. Hopefully. Maybe even Davidson, though that is kinda quick.

It will be a month of matches (4 matches) after being out for all of last season. I would think that she will be fine, but I'm not expecting her to return. That said, I hope she does. And I hope Macario is healthy as well to see what Hayes can do with those two (separately as I doubt they will play together unless in emergency).

You will start to see Cat at CAM with Wilson back. At least sometimes.
