I guess after Bruce referred to both the Argentina and Jamaica games yesterday during his press confernce the USSF didn't have much choice but to announce it!

I may use one player in the game against Canada. The particular weekend we play Argentina is not a fixture date, but the game against Jamaica is a fixture date and I would like to bring in at least a couple of players. At the same time this is a great opportunity for our younger players to be able to play in Jamaica. We will bring in a few players from Europe, but I don’t believe we will bring in a whole lot.

That was a VERY good press conference with all sorts of interesting bits. He just came out and said that he is gonna build the team around Landon. I wonder if he meant it like it read.

If it read like, you can be pretty sure Arena meant it. He's not one for speaking obliquely.

What I have always liked about Arena is his lack of affectation. No celebratory cigars with the "brain trust". No words for the day. No new-age weirdness.

In the interview he says that he has learned. How that warms my heart. You won't see him relying on old chums or dudes who aren't cutting it. I think that that's what he's learned not to do. What to do? Just get the studs out there and play without fear.

    The Bruce

My kid's soccer coach (a European guy) told me Bruce Arena was a typical American who was in over his head.

    He's now my kid's ex-soccer coach.

Can anyone post a link that shows the squad Argentina will be bringing?

There was one here before the boards crashed.

No younger studs - such as Tevez or Cavenaghi - since the CONMEBOL U20 WCQ will be taking place just before USA-ARG play; though the U20 WCQ's end on 1/28/03 some more players could be brought in.

This is the squad Argentina is bringing for all three of their games in the U.S.

It is essentially an U23 side.

No more crap about how small DaMarcus Beasley is, okie-dokie! Look at how "big" D'Allesandro is.

I didn't watch any games from the latest Argentine league. Can somebody throw out a possible starting XI in a proper formation?
