0-0 42min Recently.....(all second hand info) Gaven with a nice run-tackled away by Bocanegra. Boca down for a bit holding wrist and seems to be okay now. MetroStars have dominated last 10 min of play or so. Metro Corner Kick, turns out to be "terrible."
seems to me that the fire should be dominating on ALL of the corner kicks. hasn't it been a re-accurring theme of the metros dominating the first half and all of the sudden it's damani ralph to spoil their fun. hope this isn't any different.
I expected the Mutts to come out with all guns blazing and they did. The Fire have survived that storm and even looked halfway dangerous late in the half. Still, our midfield doesn't look like they can possess the ball under the constant Metros whose motto seems to be "put bodies on bodies". This has caused the Fire to play mostly route 1 ball with little in the way of quality chances outside the corner kicks. The high pressure strategy seems to be working because the Mutts have seemed the more consistently threatening side. The question is "Can they maintain this pace?". I'd like to see the Fire midfield be better able to hold the ball and find some seams. And we MUST finish when we get a chance because if the second half goes like the first, there won't be many of them. And we have to do a beter job of containing the Metros' counter attacks. Two of them got right behind our defense and should have been goals. Oh, and while I hate Nike, I love the new hotel ad with Tim Howard.
0-0 56th min Counter for Fire, beasley down left, crosses in but Razov basically whiffs and Whitfield can't get the shot. Way high.
