SKC returns to the bestestest competition in all of American sports! What kind of lineup are we guessing at tomorrow evening? Full lineup since this is our only shot at hardware? Scrub team since we just played on Saturday? Something in between? Do we even have a chance against a USL side? Fun fact: Colorado Springs was a tuberculosis colony and was dubbed "America's Greatest Sanitarium" in the late 1800s.
Do we even have a full lineup? And I think Colorado Springs has changed that to America's Greatest Insanitarium"
If they need a hype man....Tonight's match pits one of the very worst clubs in MLS against a USL-C club that is just barely in playoff position. These goliaths of soccer have played a combined 12 matches. Each club getting one win. Tonight we finally get the answer to "who is worse, a really really bad MLS club or a bad USL-C club. Buckle up, someone is guaranteed to get win number two!
After 30 minutes its clear that a mid level USL-C team is better than an MLS bottom feeder. Sonfar its Masereka's revenge.
Seeing the "highlights" Miller can go, his over pursuing is a major problem. As for Reid, I'm not convinced Sinovic wouldn't still be a better LB than him.
Let us hope that this will be THE rock bottom spot of the season, nowhere to go but up. The pace and press of the Switchbacks just lays bare the lack of a team mentality in SKC. I think Charlie Davies used the term identity, which is better.
There's zero tallent on this roster outside a few players. Watching tonight, you would have thought Colorado Springs was the higher tier club. SKCs players almost universally suck at trapping and passing. All the new aquisitions were on the field. All looked terrible. The bottom is the spoon. I haven't watched much of the bottom of the eastern conference but I can't imagine anyone other than possibly Montreal is anywhere near as tallentless as SKC. Oh, and after tonight Miller and Reid should never play again.
I'm willing to give Borges more time, but this... this is rec level defending. Literally steps aside and makes the shooting lane bigger. .@SwitchbacksFC are ROLLING 😤Khori Bennett adds a third to the Colorado Springs lead! 💪#USOC2026 | @opencup pic.twitter.com/6Icouq8ODT— USL Championship (@USLChampionship) April 15, 2026
Did not start watching until early in the 2nd half and assumed it was a starting line-up full of bench player, but no, mostly starters getting their ass handed to them by a USL-C team. Total embarrassment.
I’ve watched this club play in the USOC for 25 years. This game has to be the most embarrassing display of soccer from a MLS team to date. Absolutely pathetic.
The Richmond loss at home up there, if not worse because it was at home. And overall, MLS teams have lost to amateur sides in this tournament, so not overall either.
Was thinking this same thing. On the men's side, its literally all we've got. Our MLS team has been irrelevant for years and somehow, the team that finished last in the west last year is undeniably worse this year. Worse than all of that, the new guys brought in to save the club just aren't impressive. Now, maybe that's because they're surrounded by trash but I'm not seeing much individual brilliance either. The club is still a new back 5 from being anything other than terrible.
That they won't allow tailgating at, that few of us can afford to attend, and if we could be bled dry of any remaining money we have.
LBJ has gone backward in how he's played. I have to hope it's b/c he's trying to overcompensate for the slop around him.
