I like that move. All young US boys need to go to here to be pounced. Either you being broken as two forwards big boys, or like Medford Messi who became tougher.
Source: Celtic FC are interested in #NYCFC and #USMNT goalkeeper Matt Freese. Various reports also have English clubs firmly in the mix for him as well. pic.twitter.com/oxM9iRYzaH— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) July 19, 2026
Its the SPL; not Real Madrid. They could use another goalkeeper. Right now they have Finnish international Viljami Sinisalo and Scottish veteran Ross Doohan. Whether Freese is the right fit or not..........who knows????? Heck, they should kick the tires on Chris Brady as he has a Scottish passport. Celtic see second bid rejected as European club demand up to £6.7million They seem to be trying to get this keeper from Las Palmas, but have had multiple bids rejected. Maybe they're going to plans B and C. I have a buddy that's a Celtic fan and he said that online the fans are very concerned about how inactive Celtic have been in the transfer window. Need to get a move on..................... The rest of the SPL sucks so hard that Celtic can suffer from complacency.
Jedi Man U chatter in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ee-robinson-manchester-united-transfer-latest He’d definitely play there if healthy. And Luke Shaw can rarely make it through a season anyways.
Yeah I think we are unequivocally at that point too. And it is absolute certain that our top two teams are better than theirs. Celtic and Rangers would be remarkably mid in MLS imo. That said, Freese.........wellllll, he aint all that. And we know exactly what highlight is going to be shown to "familiarize" the fans if it actually happens. Red teaming it, why not just look at your academy or maybe some lower league keeper to sign that has some upside?
I think he’d be fine there. And obviously he made a huge mistake in the biggest game of his life but that’s not everything he is as a keeper. He’s not the first goalie to make such a mistake. It happens. No need to write him off but obviously starting job is an open competition for whoever grabs it.
Oh! I'm waiting for the posters that (in years past, anyway) have always loved to pile on MLS for having club option years. StOp HoLdInG PuLi HoStAgE!! rolleyes
https://www.fussballeuropa.com/news...ch-will-4-grossverdiener-verkaufen-2026-07#:~: Reyna and Scally collect between 1.5 and two million euros annually. Manager Rouven Schröder (photo) wants to reduce this salary burden in order to create financial leeway for the conversion of the team. I think they may need to reduce their salary if they actually want to move. Do teams outside of North America take on salary often? That's another option.
Rangers might be a good home for Gio. He's a legacy, sort of. His dad played for another club that also played at Ibrox with the same name.
....................and I'm not sure about Rangers and Hearts. I saw some stat about Cameron Carter Vickers' record in games he's started in the SPL, and its ridiculous. I wish I could remember that stat. Celtic these days enters Europe and most years exits in pathetic fashion. This year they were knocked out of Champions League qualifying by Kairat of Kazakhstan.
I wouldn't bet on him. He wasn't starting the last few games before the WC and now FCd has acquired another young keeper from SJE.
Celtic are complaining they keep getting outbid for players by EFL Championship teams, even though they are in a much better financial position.
Im not taking anything away from Freese's mistake but something forgotten with it is that thr mistake happened because Freese's leg got stuck in the the ground when he went to kick the ball. Not an excuse as he panicked after, but I dont think it was all "what the hell was he doing?" As people want to make it
