To be fair soccer players are sold before contracts end all the time so McKennie to MLS or some other destination in Europe before 2030 could still happen.
If you weren't a message board chronic I'd question how much you understand about international transfers. Because I can't possibly be wrong about a prediction that mentioned 2030, and then 2027, when it's only 2026.
We know how this McKennie pattern will go, despite signing this new contract. Somehow a new coach will come in, who won't be sure he likes McKennie. He'll be rooted to the bench, and we'll all be talking about his transfer possibilities. Then by midway thru the season he'll be the best player on the team. Spalleti hasn't signed a contract extension, has he?
I provided the mean highs and lows in a discussion about weather. Then when you said that was misleading I provided the temperatures for *actual* dates. You said that was also misleading. I just think you were being dodgy and dishonest. The embarrassment must be too much for you.
Nothing Juve does has to make sense............................................ Spalleti, who seems to be an enormous Weston backer, hasn't yet signed a new contract. Juventus under Spalleti has now been knocked out of the Champions league by Galatasaray in embarrassing fashion, and is still sitting in 6th in Serie A. They've failed to win their last four games in Serie A. Its been a run of tough games to be sure (Roma, Como, Inter, Lazio). Also knocked out of Coppa Italia after losing 3-0 to Atalanta in this stretch. The honeymoon is OVA! [Hard to believe that Igor Tudor was the coach of Juve before this. That guy's been a mess at Spurs so far. What do teams see in that guy????? He doesn't seem to stay anywhere very long.]
Take it for what its worth: Transfer rumors, news: Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool eye USMNT star Adams - ESPN Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all reportedly considering a summer move for USMNT and Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams. An offer worth around £40 million could be enough to land him, but any deal isn't expected to take place until after the FIFA World Cup. pic.twitter.com/SSD5POMpc7— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) March 4, 2026
If you weren't such a BigSoccer troll, I'd actually try to take you seriously. First, big teams very rarely sell a player just after the first year of his contract (unless it was something agreed upon before), especially Juve. He may move in the last year, but he's going nowhere in 2027. Just admit to it and move on (and maybe learn about a subject before you question others on it).
According to TM, there have been about 25 transfers into the PL this season (both windows) at that amount or higher, and another 10 that are just below that figure. So about 2 per club on average. Tyler, when healthy, has been a top DM in the league. I would think that if he didn't have his injury history, he'd probably easily go for 60M in today's EPL transfer landscape.
Yep. It should be remembered Adams once had had transfer to Chelsea done pending the medical, which he subsequently failed.
40 million sounds like a lot, but it really isn't in 2026. That's a price that reflects Adams' injury history. They're not going to give him away. He's under contract thru the end of the 2027-2028 season if my memory serves me correctly. Clubs have successfully shopped at Bournemouth for a number of years now. 40 million is less than Semenyo to Man City, Solanke to Spurs, Zabarnyi to PSG, Huijsen to Real Madrid, Kerkez to Liverpool, Ake to Man City, Ouattara to Brentford, etc etc. etc. At some point Bournemouth is going to think: Imagine if we actually were able to keep players. They just can't really compete. Their stadium only holds 11k fans after all. If they were in MLS, their sold out attendance would be the 2nd lowest attendance in MLS. 2nd lowest to Dallas, who is undergoing stadium renovations. Their gameday revenue must be nothing. They get that tv money. Bournemouth's the kind of club that could take a precipitous dive if they're ever relegated. I've actually been to Bournemouth the town. When you're there, the whole time you're thinking........................it's nice, but this is a Premier League town? If Bournemouth was in the US, it would be the size of Brownsville, Texas.
Bournemouth is best known as a place people go to die. It's full of retirees. It gained some life in the nineties when a bunch of American banks moved European HQs there, which reinvigorated the local economy. In fact Chase had just finished relocating thousands of employees there from London when they changed their mind and laid most of them off.
I haven’t seen it post injury yet, but pre-most recent injury Tyler was having performances worthy of some of the great DM disruptors, only smaller and faster.
Corpus Christi since it has beaches. Oddly quite a few early progressive guitarists were born nearby or moved there early in life. Robert Fripp, Andy Summers, Greg Lake etc.
There are few elite disruptors his size. They are usually unusually quick. I've often wondered why no Euro teams never went after Diego Chara. That guy is (was?) an extraordinary pest.
I couldn't remember so I just looked it up. Back in 2023 Chelsea were going to pay around 20M pounds for him.
Nonsense. £40M for a very good but limited DM (who'll be 28 years old next season) IS a LOT and just about the absolute limit (frankly I suspect it would be a little less) of what Tyler could go for, injury or not.
Wow, that is some f#%!*$& bull#%*$ making people move their whole lives only to can them shortly after. I hope every one of them got a massive severance (but I won't hold my breath for the answer).
His age shouldn't matter--aside from the buying club knowing that they'd be getting a player for his absolute best years. However, in the last 2 seasons (4 windows), there have only been 4 DMs bought by EPL clubs for more than the £40M bandied about for Tyler now. Three of them were ~24 and one was 26. Those guys went for €50M, €60M, €60M and €70M, respectively. 40M in one currency or another seems pretty squarely right and reasonable.
