and their total salaries are just over $11 mil of that. the franchise cost #30 mil to start.

do you want to talk about any other irrelevant numbers?

He seems like the guy all coaches want til they get him at which point they don't want him anymore. Let's see if Conte gets to him.

Musah grew up in Italy so I imagine that makes him more valuable in the economic sense. I don't know what the roster rules are in Italy but most countries have economic advantages in the rules for hiring their nationals. Let's hope this one gets done with Napoli.

I'd love to see Pepi stay, get a full season of UCL and Eredivisie action, and get stronger.
If Conte is driving the transfer, then Musah-to-Napoli would make a lot of sense. Conte has a strong recent record of working with players who need a change of scenery.

Well, you can convert $3M of it to GAM, so you can improve your roster pretty decently with that if nothing else. Also, Seattle doesn't actually have that wealthy of ownership relative to everyone else; the Sounders are worth a ton but they usually aren't at the highest in payroll.

While he's no longer a USMNT prospect, I hope for Vargas' sake, he doesn't take it. The move to a big Mexican club only works out if you are immediately ready to be a plus starter for them.

Vargas is a CM so won't have the added pressure of needing to create goals. And he has come into his own this year. He'll be fine in Mexico. Seattle have cover. This would be a good move for all parties.

What's the general sense of his season? Felt like momentum fell off a cliff in-between the hot conclusion to his '23-'24 season, and his slight fall off in '24-'25 (14 goal contributions vs 11). Otoh, 9 of his 11 goal contributions happened in the second half of the season including 4 in the final month of the season....

    Sounds about right.

We had a couple players on that 2024 Olympic team for whom "momentum fell off a cliff."

Paredes due to injury. Taylor Booth. Griffin Yow. Duncan McGuire.

By the way, Yow is one of the very few on that Olympic roster that doesn't now have senior USMNT caps.

We used 19 players (the 18 on the initial roster and then used on injury-related substitution).
Of those 19, only 3 don't have caps.

One might get a cap imminently. That's Nathan Harriel. The others are Yow and Dietz.

  13. You seriously think Pepi would ignore the 8 guaranteed CL matches PSV will play and join a club iirc not even in the Europa league.

If he’s ambitious for week in week out quality of play, sure.

I don’t know which is better but I don’t imagine there’s a huge difference between the Belgian league or the Championship other than the teams at the top (particularly Championship teams getting parachute payments).

I guess I’d like to see him play regularly and scoring going into a World Cup. And I don’t think he’d start immediately at Fulham (though would hopefully in time). It feels like moving before the last World Cup and not being in a good situation cost him a spot on the roster.

  17. The really seriously mattering clubs want to see how you perform at the highest level, which is the CL.
Show there the quality metal you're made of and clubs of the relegation stature don't have even to start thinking about him.
If he's ambitious, he invests in an exhibition year to jump into a top dog team.

We’ll see. Anyway I wasn’t predicting his mentality, I was saying what I want to see.

  19. Ah, you were just looking for an excuse to watch the epl.
Well, no chance to watch him play with fulham vs Chelsea and Tottenham. You have to do with PSV - Chelsea and Tottenham - PSV.

Atlético Madrid intends to finalize the signing of Johnny Cardoso before July 1.

Next week will be very important for the negotiations with Real Betis.

The clubs are not far apart.

Without Musah’s departure, Tare cannot increase offers for key midfield targets:

Granit Xhaka (Leverkusen doesn’t want to let him go for under €15 million)

Javi Guerra (Valencia is asking for €28 million)
