They don't even allow drafts or saves/bookmarks so don't hold your breath waiting for them to allow embedding...

They are still very much in early stages but the unfortunate thing is it seems like things are just going to be a bit more fragmented going forward in terms of who is on what platform.

I don't think it can really be "acquired" because it's a distributed network?

They’re privately owned for now but someone can definitely buy them.

Don’t be surprised if Elon tries to if he runs Twitter/X into the ground.

Find yourself a partner that wants you as bad as Bournemouth apparently wanted Akinmboni

Jesus Ferreira could finally be getting his big move abroad (*that lake east of Seattle)

No one go trawling for old Jesus Ferreira takes that sort of thing tends to get threads locked

In all seriousness Ferreira alongside Morris could be interesting... but then didn't we say something similar for Dallas?

Jesus hit the development wall at FCD as all their players do. If you want to be good get the hell out of Dallas. Otherwise you completely plateau after a couple years in the first team. Thank god McKennie escaped.

I expect him to raise his level in Sea.

Maybe it had something to do with being mostly injured the last couple of years?

All players plateau. It's a age thang.

Ferreira is also only 23 years old.
It seems like he's been around FOREVER, but he's only 23 (as of today anyway).

Jesus Ferreira was one week too old to still be considered a youth player on this forum in 2024. He was one week too old for the Olympic roster this summer. [For which we were very thin at forward.]

Has he plateau'd? Hell if I know.

What I do know is that Seattle just acquired a 23 year old proven MLS goalscorer.
They don't care if he's got a ceiling of a bigger league like a Ricardo Pepi might.

Jesus Ferreira is the youngest player in MLS history to 50 career goals.
[A mark which was previously held by Diego Fagundez.]

Seattle isn't acquiring him to play for them in La Liga.
They're acquiring him to play in MLS.

It just seems a weird thing to call it a "development wall" at the club. Are there more examples?

There are lots of factors why players have less productive years. Also players do get stale playing at one club.

Jesus sort of got effed over in Qatar, he then had a few injuries, he took on the captaincy, the team in general had a few bad seasons and his gf is up the duff. Plus he's at the age where a lot of players, not all, reach the early part of their peak.

Not all academy players are going to get the big money moves to bigger clubs in Europe. That's as true for clubs in Argentina and Brazil as it is for those in MLS.

FCD accepted a transfer offer for Ferreira from Spartak Moscow last year. So there was by definition European interest and by definition FCD was willing to let him move. It just didn't happen.

True and I think he's doing better than some FCD players who did go to Europe.

Not at his age it isn't.

FCD is notoriously terrible at further developing their players after the initial benefit of adapting to the 1st team level in MLS.

    He's 6 years into a 16 or 17 year career.

In the real world, where there's no NCAA, that's a mature, experienced player.

Notorious to whom? Give me some examples.

FCD bought a DP forward at the start of the 2024 season, and also traded up in the draft to pick Logan Farrington.

I expressed an opinion that basically Ferreira already had both feet out the door.
FCD had sold him and he'd agreed the move. So everybody had already decided to move on a year ago. That sale fell apart. It was sort of like you filed for divorce and then lived with the person for a year.

Then he got hurt and missed much of 2024.
When he returned, he mostly didn't play as a #9. Musa had the spot locked down.

.................but let's not forget that as a #9 the previous two seasons, he'd scored 30 goals.

If a foreign 21-22 year old came into the league and scored that many goals, people wouldn't be so cynical.

But wasn't the whole point that Ferreira was supposed to play better alongside a #9, not that the #9 would lock down the spot hurting Ferreira?
Because with Seattle he's not going to be the #9 either, Jordan Morris will have that spot locked down... so the key will be how he works with Morris, maybe it will go well (I think it should) but then why didn't it go better with Musa?
