Turning the page ... Haji Wright took and made another PK yesterday, though it was more of a late consolation goal in a 2-1 EFL Cup defeat. Still, you can't argue with success.

Sargent took and made a PK today, to open the scoring, then scored a late second goal in a 2-0 Norwich City victory.

Perfect for our purposes! Millwall draws level, 1-1, and the (early-round) match goes straight to PKs.

Richards takes and makes the second one for Palace.

    Palace advances, 4-2, on penalties.

And btw, Richards scored the Palace goal, after subbing on in the second half.

"{Akex} Zendejas added a goal in the 73rd and converted a penalty in the 83rd minute," goals 3 and 4 in a 4-1 win.

Penalties are typically a volunteer thing, but this would be a good line-up:

    1 Pulisic
    2 Zendejas
    3 Dest
    4 Tillman
    5 Balogun

From memory I think Pepi is real good at penalties while Balogun isn't (I think).

Assuming Pepi is on the field…

Yeah, of course. What a group we have where you can't count on literally anyone being healthy. Jedi was the iron man but even he has rusted and needed to be recast.

Not getting a lot of help here, so feel free to chime in. James Sands helped himself by (among other things) going the full distance in a 2-2 midweek draw with Hoffenheim in the DFB Cup, then taking and making his PK in an 8-7 PK triumph. Sands took the 7th PK for St Pauli.

Keep in mind if we go to penalties at the WC it's after 120 minutes....Pulisic isn't coming off if healthy but that likely means the other 2 of our front 3 (presumably Balogun/Tillman at the moment) have been subbed out, likely along with whichever of Dest/Weah starts that game and at least one of our CMs. In terms of a shootout I'd keep an eye on guys like Pepi, Wright, Zendejas, Luna, Tessmann who are unlikely to start but have a good chance of being on the field at the end of 120.

If I'm predicting a hypothetical US shootout lineup for a game next summer I'm probably going (no particular order) Pulisic, Pepi, Richards, Wright, and 1 of Dest/Weah/Tessmann....not so much because I think those are our top 5 necessarily but because those are the guys who are likely to be on the field.
