Yeah but he was in and out with injuries all year. Hard to get going when you can stay healthy for a sustained period.
While I regret sounding like a Debbie Downer, I just don’t think Jesus’ ceiling is very high. While he’s had success at the MLS level, I just don’t feel he’s ever going to be able to produce at the international level. The talent just isn’t there. I hope he proves me wrong though. In fact, I’d love for him to prove me wrong.
I'm not saying call Jesus in. Definitely not right now actually. But he's ALREADY PRODUCED AT THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. Dismiss him as the Pirate of the Caribbean if you like, but that is the international level that we play like 75 % of the time.
Slonina seems to be out with a finger problem. Clarke said goalkeeper Gaga Slonina would miss four to six weeks. Understand he has injured a ligament in his finger— Doug O'Kane (@dougokane88) November 8, 2024
CCV is not in Celtic’s squad today. Please don’t tell me … Edit: might just be a precaution. “So that’s two changes from the side that started against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night with Cameron Carter-Vickers not in the squad today – no doubt a precaution given the plastic surface – and Kyogo dropping to the bench.”
Celtic boss shares why Cameron Carter-Vickers missed training amid fears Basically they were rested. CCV is being rested today because of a bit of tightness in his hamstring.
Fair enough… I just don’t think his level translates to where we want to be. If Jesus is getting major playing time in 2026, I don’t predict great things. Again, hope he proves me wrong.
According to Bild, Gio Reyna has returned to team training for Dortmund and could be available for their upcoming game against Freiburg next weekend.
That was so unexpected I don't know what to think. He needs some sort of invisible bubble wrap at this point. Can't he just get lucky and go for a spell with no injuries?
Still listed as out (with a foot injury). Might be time for a post-camp update. Richards is at least on the bench today. Adams started. Maloney started, Johnny and Aidan Morris are out with muscular injuries. Pulisic is not 100% and may not start today. Sargent and Wright will be out until next year. Dest, Reyna, and Balogun could all use an update. Slonina et al if you expand the pool.
Aidan Morris will reportedly be out for a “number of weeks” due to a twisted knee that caused him to miss both matches in the latest USMNT camp. I wish they would tell us what the number of weeks is, but at least this is somewhat of an update. https://t.co/bfDCLplgKs— American Ultras Talk (@ameriultrastalk) November 22, 2024

Just for completeness, here's an update on Balogun from yesterday: https://sports.yahoo.com/monaco-predicted-xi-v-brest-085500783.html Folarin Balogun also remains out, although he has now made a full return to first-team training. Adi Hutter says that the USMNT striker can be available in the “short term” but without any specifics.
