Does anyone know of any places on Long Island that will be carrying the USMNT game vs. New Zealand on sunday? While I can certainly enjoy it from home, it might be nice to share the joy of another victory!!! Thanks
I don't know of any bar that would actually get a crowd in to watch the game -- if you want that, you probably need to go into the city, to Nevada Smith's maybe. Just about any bar will get the game, and if they have a few TVs, they'ld probably put the game on for you. The only bar on LI that really caters to soccer fans that I know of is The Old Shilling, on Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. It used to be Brian Boru's. I've never been there since it switched to The Old Shilling, but Brian Boru's used to be more into English soccer than American soccer.
I'm from Massapequa and would LOVE to one day open my own sports bar that would cater to international sports fans (e.g. soccer, rugby, cricket, etc.). This way, people would have a place to go to see the USMNT (and USWNT for that matter!).

Re: Long Island Soccer Fans, Soccer home for all World Cup Games Did you have a good turnout? Are you going to be open for the US v. Algeria Game on Wednesday at 10AM?
And then it turned into Celtic Corner or something like that. Anyway, I'm meeting some English friends at Lily Flanagan's in Babylon for tomorrow's USA v. Algeria and England v. Slovenia games. Doors open at 9:45.
