    Whadda ya think?
    Would they do well?
Would they get as many fans as SJ Earthquakes?
Could they use the Earthquakes Name/Jersey?
    Would you support them?

    -Sry for your loss btw.

Just wondering, it would seem like a good business move to me, could lead USL in attendance if they moved in / were created ASAP.

Too late for 2006, the A-League schedule is already set.

If something came up, and you could put 5000+ fans in the seats every game, i'm sure the league would reschedule.

    SF is not in USL-1.

San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento would make a nice regional rivalry similar to our northwest triumvirate of Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver.

We can do all the "F--- MLS" talk we want, but I would have a hard time getting into supporting a 2nd division team. We'd be fulfilling our city government's minor league city mentality.

No offense to those that admirably support their USL clubs.

And SJ not in anything, so it could still be a possiblity.

It will be a possibility when there is no longer any efforts to get an MLS team back.

Santa Clara, or Spartan Stadium, I heard they offered sweet heart deals but AEG ignored them.

San Jose belongs in the top division of American soccer.

I agree. But a USL team in a secondary bay area city, like maybe Fremont or something, would be just fine.

Derby, Wolves, Leeds, Forest, Leicester and one or two more team's fans believe we should be in the Premiership. Sadly, our teams' performances in recent years mean otherwise. Surely, it's better to have a PDL or USL team to support until you can get MLS back to the area.
Oh, and I know it's not the team's performance which has lost SJ the franchise, but isn't showing MLS and potential investers that there is a thriving soccer market in the bay a powerful persuasion to bring MLS back?

Maybe not this year because most of the better players will have teams already
Not in USL whilst MLS exists.
The name is owned by the league, so probably not, but no-one can stop them playing in blue shirts and black shorts.

Big difference is that your English teams have the opportunity to make it back to the Premiership, there is no advancement from USL to MLS.
MLS and investors already know there is a market here, we just need to get our politicians on board.

Woohoo! The Frogs! Seriously, I'll support them, especially if Ekelund plays for them. Not sure I like the name, but it's kind of irreverently silly like the "banana slugs", and I'm in an irreverent mood these days.

Isn't Frog Design the company that designed the MAC and a bunch of other Apple devices?

Read a little bit on their web site. They were apparently involved in the design of the Mac. The name I always hear attached to design at Apple is IDEO. frog design founder Hartmut Esslinger is German (no big surprise given his name) and appears to be a real high tech guy actually investing in Bay Area soccer. Yes, it's probably on a modest level, but it's a start. Interesting...
