BREAKING: #LVLights is in advanced talks to be #LAFC’s affiliate in 2021, sources tell The Athletic. LAFC would cover sporting and technical side (housed in LA, travel to Vegas for games) while Lights run business operation. Has not been submitted to #USL office for approval.
Done deal: #LAFC and @lvlightsfc establish a @USLChampionship affiliate partnership with @ussoccer legend Steve Cherundolo serving as Lights' head coach.

So how does LAFC <> LV going to work in 2023 with the MLS Next Pro ? I would thing LV would want to stay in USL-C, so I am thinking LAFC is going to have to create their own Next Pro team. If so, any rumors or ideas of where they could play? My first thought, since I am an alumnus of Cal State LA and the LAFC training base is also there, use the CSLA field. I think other PDL or NPSL teams have used it in the past, so unknown if that would create scheduling issues. Another thought is East LA stadium, kind of sort of between the training base and the BANC and much larger capacity of they think they will pull crowds. Not sure how much more soccer the BANC can take on with LAFC- Angel City, internationals/friendlies and what seems at least this year, 5/6 concerts too. Could beat the field to death... Options to mix at all 3 places, but with 2 of the locations being colleges and parking always an issue, will be interesting.
