This is why I love to point out shit like this and it never changes: "We have been around for 26 years, we actually predate MLS by 10 years," said league president Tim Holt. "MLS does a great job with major league soccer in this country and we represent the level of soccer right below major league soccer. “ We caught up with Holt as he met with the new owners to help them get to work and he said they have a lot to do in a very short time. http://www.azfamily.com/sports/Phoenx-Pro-Soccer-162643096.html
well to be fair to WSW, it does say that in the article, which is from today. And considering Holt's comments are factually wrong, this is a legit gripe and honestly I'm pretty annoyed by it as well.
Their standard boilerplate phrasing is misleading, but debatably true on its surface. This? This is just lying.
Holt and Big Papa were probably high-fiving constantly from the day of their Phoenix announcement, right until last Thursday..... But always consistent, he needed to try and get a dig in to satisfy his wounded pride yet again. But I wonder if he knows just what an ass-clown he shows himself to be with that crap at this point. I mean, it's coming up on two years since the NASL decided to give D2 a try while he turn and ran from the D2 standards. And still he needs to carry on with this petty imbecilic crap? As always it's easy to see which side of the fence all of the venom is still spewing from.
With the possibility of an official working relationship between MLS and the NASL, the USL must find a way to open dialogue & put their differences aside with the NASL or else they risk becoming the IRAN, CUBA, or NORTH KOREA of North American Soccer!
Isn't there a rummor about MLS buying USL (at least PDL) perhaps just something I saw on Big Soccer, so never mind.
Yeah that's the only place we've seen anything about it so far, on twitter and without any further information or links or evidence. So who knows?
The lack of anything else substantial coming up in a google search leads me to believe it's all tweeting
USL lies about their status all the time. Deal with it, USL. Saw this today as well. Dutch Lions executive saying, "they play one step below Major League Soccer." http://www.wdtn.com/dpp/living_dayton/dayton-dutch-lions It bothers me that they don't respect their level and the fact the USSF sets the standard for DII. That said, I just want the USL, NASL, and MLS to have successful teams to keep my dumbass entertained.
United Shenanigans Leagues. It's one thing to boast about yourself, which to their credit USL has the right to do in many aspects. But to blatantly, a year and a half later, still be going on about how they are the "highest level" below MLS is ridiculous. It's D3. Case closed. That's below D2. USLPRO is made up primarily of teams that were either in D3 before the split happened anyway or formed after the standards were handed down. That shows by the league getting dominated by one team, Orlando, and 2nd and 3rd place taken by teams that were in D2 before the split. NASL has it's issues too. So does MLS for that matter. But if everyone settles in and knows their places and tries to be the best they can be at their respective levels, it'll be better for everyone, even without any direct cooperation between the leagues.
United Scientology League: Memo from cult leader Tim Holt: To all the owners and executives repeat the lie that we repersent the level of soccer below MLS, often enough and people will believe it.
I read some news then I scan the bottom and this shit again: http://boxscorenews.com/usl-pro-wee...y-clinches-regular-season-title-p42628-77.htm
USL's nonsense isn't the story there. That's BAU for them. What continues to be the story to me is the charade that is the "D3" Orlando City Lions. 15 wins, 5 ties, and 1 loss. Come on. Really? This team should be in D2 fighting for a first round playoff bye with their operation and players. They should be developing an epic derby with us and the Rowdies. Instead they slap around the rest of D3 like rented mules and celebrate being champs. It's getting ugly, and sad. Come on Rawlins, quit being a punk and move your operation to where it should be.
