I realize this is a long shot, but what the hell... If any of you yahoos know anything about binoculars, specifically, what type are most effective for viewing games at GS, please let me know. I'm trying to figure out which would be best, a 7x35 with a 489 FOV, or an 8x42 with a 430 FOV.

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

wife was kind enough to purchase a Nikon set 8x42 and we love them!!!!

I don't really know what's out there, and she sort of did the research on her own, so I supposed they are good, because they work well. Crisp very stable viewing and Hard Rubberized on the outside in case you get slammed drunk by accident and drop them.... as it regularly can at the games.....you know what I mean?

    good luck, you'll enjoy them.....

PS: they come in handy if you want to focus on just one player and see how they play and read the field thru a sequence of time....

You could always zoom in on a lady accross the field. That's why halftime got created.

I thought binoculars were banned by the Giants Stadium Crew - too easy to hide nerve gas inside them - surely it can't be because they want you to fork over for bottom row, twice as expensive ticket instead of the cheap seats...

You say they come in handy for focusing on one player, but is the FOV (field of view) too narrow to watch more than one player at a time? Do you find yourself wishing that you could see more of the field/players through the binos? That's the thing I'm wrestling with, magnification (the 1st number) vs. FOV. A 7x35 pair has a much wider FOV than an 8x42 so, obviously, you see more of the action, but the tradeoff is, you don't see it as close. The 7x35 appears 7x closer, and the 8x42 appears 8x closer. And, yeah, I do know what you mean. :) Thanks for your feedback locolos.

That's pretty funny, since, except for those stupid attach a row seats, all the seats in a section are the same price.

Binoculars are permitted. The only time I ever bothered bringing mine was to a 2002 MetroStars-Boca Juniors match.

Big, terrific pair of Binolux 7x50 325 ft. @ 1000 yds.
