Just in case you missed it, or you are not a season ticket holder. On Monday May 26th at 7:00PM, our nats will be playing the Welsh team right here at good old Spartan Stadium.

As a season ticket holder I am able to buy tickets early and at a discount. The order deadline is April 5th.

I would also assume that we will see plenty of our Euro's due to the upcoming Confederations Cup tournament in France. That tournament takes place from June 18-29. Arena would like to have a good showing at that prestigious tournament.

One big plus is that the Nats and the Welsh will probably be practicing locally for a few days before the game. It will be a good opportunity to see these guys up close - I hope that the practices are somewhat open.

    ;) :) !!!

Wales should bring a full compliment of players as well as they resume Euro 2004 qualifying right after....

    It's Official!

The US Men's National team will be playing Wales, at Spartan Stadium, Memorial day weekend. http://www.mlsnet.com/content/03/us0326wales.html

This is news to me but I'm excited they'll be playing in San Jose. My very first national team game... :D

Not necessarily, Ryan Giggs may stay behind if Manchester United are playing in the Champions League final, which is a couple of days thereafter at Old Trafford, IIRC.

Nonetheless, great going, guys. I wish I could be there, back home for a good matchup at my old home ground in my hometown on a holiday, but please think of me as there in spirit. :)

One question, though-- I find the 7 p.m. kickoff on a holiday Monday to be a bit odd. Regardless of going head-to-head against baseball or whatever, wouldn't a 1 or 3 p.m. kickoff be more agreeable, as per the holiday, and so forth?

But I digress. Once again, congratulations. :)

It's not the most opportune time, but national team game times are dictated by TV interests. Both ESPN and ESPN2 show baseball tripleheaders during the day on Memorial Day, so it has to be a late start to get on TV.

That's fair enough, then. A waste of a good holiday afternoon, but certainly a case of "take whatever you can get".

LOL! Yeah, but it could've started even sooner! :D

Have fun with the BBQ and the Magic Cooler, as I doubt you'll all have no trouble with at all. Just think of me and Jen as there in spirit...

Just as long as you have her home by midnight. And don't forget to take into account the time difference over here!! And we have to move the clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time here, too. :D

    Moving right along...

Does anyone know how Sam's Army might be configured for this match? Will The Casbah be in full force and effect? Can The Casbah and Sam's Army coexist?

A buddy in my office looked up info on Sam's Army website and didn't even see the event listed on their calendar. If he had his druthers he'd stand with Sam's Army and/or The Casbah (even though he's a ManU supporter). Can anyone shed any light on this situation so I can help guide my friend's ticket purchase?

A group of us talked at the Champions Cup game (we also chatted with Johnny afterwards). We should be in our usual spot (N3) for the game. However, at this point nothing is set in stone. Brad is working with the Quakes office to get it set up. Once we have more info, I'll make sure it gets passed on.

Brad sent an email out to the yahoo groups list (which is mostly dead these days since we all discuss Quakes stuff right here on BigSoccer).

    Here's the contents:
    ---
I spoke with Johnny today and according to him, US Soccer and Sam's Army have set aside N4 as the Sam's Army section. Hopefully, it will be full enough that N3 also will be a Sammers section. If you have not ordered you tickets yet and you want to be in Sam's Army, ask for section N4. If you have already ordered in N3, that is fine. Either the section will overflow to you, or you can come join N4.

An email will be going out to Sam's Army members with ticket purchase information. As always, check www.sams-army.com for updates.

Just got my ticket yesterday and saved the five buck service charge by picking it up at the Earthquake headquarters.

Thanks Bill. I should have got it up on bigsoccer.... www.sams-army.com is updated with ticket info now.

The Welsh fans will be in the south end zone directly accross from us. Is should be a really good atmosphere.

I got my ticket for the game this week and it's in N3...

If enough of the gang were able to get their tickets there we should be able to make it the Sammer's section. Also, in the past that has been our hangout for the US National Team games.

So as long as we have N3 (and N4/N2 maybe N2/N4) it should be the USA/Sammers area...

Will be nice to trade ditties with the Welsh from the South End...

and, we need to get the "world famous" Sam's Army San Jose Brigade Banner... Cheers!

Thanks for the update. I've posted the info on the US Fans and Supporters thread, as well as the U.S. Supporters group on Yahoo (I didn't notice any posts on this game there).

    Nap,

What is the cost for a ticket in the Casbah section for this game? And from what I have read we can pick these tix's up at the SJ main office on Stevens Creek, is that correct?

    Saludos y Musho San Jose!

Two tickets purchased today!! Can't wait.

I screwed around and missed the deadline to buy the discounted tickets but went ahead and ordered through Ticketmaster today anyway. Interestingly, my seats are in section 134...within earshot of the Wales section at the South end.
