I run an email list for fans of Wrexham, a Welsh team playing in the 3rd Division in England. Word just passed through that Wales will be playing the U.S. national team on May 26 in San Jose. Is this rumor, fact, or something in between?

As I heard the rumor Wales has announced that they will play the US in San Jose on May 26th but the US federation has not confirmed it.

Well, the CONCACAF Champions Cup return leg is schedule for the 26th of March in San Jose. Hmm, could there be a doubleheader with the USMNT?

That would be a LONG intermission between matches. Two months. Nothing against Spartan Stadium, but I don't think I wanna hang out there that long to see the USA-Wales match.

I'd like to see Giggs. Seeing him up close would be awesome, although the small pitch of Spartan would limit our ability to see him go all out.

Totally agree...though some of the earlier discussions (perhaps in another thread) suggested that Giggs may still be involved in post-season/Champions League play with ManU.

Wow, an opportunity for me to see West Brom in person! OK, maybe only WBA's Andy Johnson and Jason Koumas, who should be on the subs bench...

    QuakeAttack,

Bluemeanie can always watch a USA vs. Wales men's soccer match next time when they come to town. It happens so often.

It's a dream for me being from Wales. I have to admit team wise, I prefer the US. I mean that's the team I follow now I live here. But still this would be cool! I don't think they have ever played Wales.
