    According to FDA:

"No live television broadcast is expected for the US-Portugal game, which would be staged as the second game of a doubleheader. The Revolution meet Dallas in the opener, in a match rescheduled from June 8."

Get your tickets early folks, this one will sell out quick.

    Why move the Rev game?

Moving the Revs-Burn game to a Thursday? What will that do to TV coverage for the Revs?

Why wouldn't they show the Portugal game on TV? Tape delay at least!

Why not have the Revs stay on Sat. the 8th and play the double header with the US vs New Zealand game? That way the US doesn't have to travel.

Two games at the Razor would only help the Krafts, wouldn't it?

I certainly would much rather watch the US vs. Portugal than US vs. New Zealand!

My guess is that local TV will still show the Revolution match.

There's nothing in FDA's article to suggest the match won't be shown on TV, but rather, LIVE TV. I'm willing to bet the match will be broadcast, perhaps on delay via ESPN2, or maybe even through RTPI (Radio/Television Portugal international) that's available on some local Massachsuetts cable systems.

The Revs won't be playing any doubleheader on the 8th, not with the U.S. vs. New Zealand match being played in Richmond, VA.

Sounds to me like the following has taken place:

    * Portugal initially agreed in principle to play the U.S. at Foxboro on June 8th. However, a decision was made to play a tour in Asia which would most likely have been more financially lucurative, so thus, plans for a match on the 8th were scratched.

    * The U.S., having an open date prior to the Confederations Cup, filled it with the currently scheduled match in Richmond against the Kiwi's.

    * Portugal, in response to the health concerns over SARS, cancelled their tour to China and South Korea, Toronto as well although SARS fears there have lifted somewhat. So perhaps they dial up the USSF and the Krafts, seeing if there's still something that can be done, and it sounds like their request will be accomodated.

Guess we'll have to wait for confirmation, as well as seeing what times these games will be played.

And if there's no game, I would assume that the Revs game would move back to Saturday? Anyone know for sure?
