Might as well start a thread here since the other threads are nothing but biased knee jerk reactions.

The game has made me worried about qualifying. Is Josh Wolff the best we have up there? Completely average if not below average. Playing Zavagnin is another move I don't understand. He's not World Class and he's 30 years old.
Convey was pathetic and is not a defender.

Bright spots were Beasley and Donovan and well....that's about it.

Overall an embarassing performance and possibly a warning sign.

Jeff Cunningham for the National Team.

I wouldn't be too worried. Do you really think BA is going to use players like Mullan, Ching, Albright, Zavagnin or even Eddie Gavin in a game that means anything?

This game was meaningless, thus an opportunity to give some players pretty low on the list a chance prove their worth. I don't foresee any of the above players making the starting roster for a qualifier.

This game wasn't nearly as exciting as the Crew game so I fell asleep.

I agree, why should BA use anybody important for this match? What does he care, other than to scout out some of the local talent and see who he may have overlooked. If nobody stood out, that pretty much tells him he's got the right people already and these other boys can go back to their day-jobs.

I didn't watch the game, and really the result is absolutely meaningless to me. Who BA uses in meaningless matches is his own business, as long as it helps him define the pool of players for WCQ's and the WC 2006.

Agree with almost all of this, but you forgot to mention McBride. That was without question his worst performance for the Nats.

Yeah, I did forget about McBride since it was easy to do.

I don't see what some of those guys even did to earn a call up to be honest.

To be fair I though Gavin did okay for the short amount of time he was out there. He's the kind of players I want to see given a shot.

This country needs "B" Internationals for those players.

I'm just glad that a bunch of fvckin polish americans who weren't even born here turn their back on the country oftheir birth and cheer for Poland over the US. It makes me sick.

Donovan, Pope, and Bocanegra are the only players who I would say had a good game.
Howard also looked solid, except for that goal. In his defense, he thought Pope was going to kick it out, and then was suprised to see the ball coming at him. Howard clearly needs to come back to a club like Columbus where he will grow and become a star on the world stage. Manchester United just doesn't have the capabilities we do.
Ching also looked OK out there, better than I thought he would do.

How can you say that? This game has a direct impact on our standings in the FIFA/Coca-Cola world standings!! After that tie, we'll be lucky to still be ahead of Turkey. If we don't have the players that will be playing for it all, how can we gell in the next two years?!?

Now, on a less sarcastic note, everything KK said in the above post I'll agree with 100%.

sure it was meaningless but we could have given some better players a chance.

I was glad to see Ching get a chance. He deserves it. So does Buddle. I'd take those two over hosers like Twellman, Woolyneck, Kirovski, and Wolff any day of the week.

I think everyone is missing the point. It sounded like a polish home game.

You had to expect this. It's similar to expecting the Mexican/Mexican American contingent to turn out in Los Angeles.

Yer a jerky-boy. And your post makes absoulutely no sense. Or is that a misguided attempt at humor after your team nearly has their asses handed to them by a bunch of four-stringers and boy scouts from Poland?

I'm highly offended by this remark, as it associates me with these illiterate SOBs.

    From a historical context:
If it wasn't for the yanks, there'd be no Poland, and there'd be no Poles. Poles were only slightly better than the Jews, Gypsies, and Gays to Hitler, but if he had his way, they'd have all had the same ending. Unfortunately for my buddy hang, Czechs were on the same tier as Poles as well.
