Well, I'm more entertained and optimistic than I was vs Colombia. But I'm also realistic about what we're supposed to see here.
I remember once Scotland beat France 1-0 with 14% possession, and 1 shot on goal (someone hoofed a ball the wind took past Lloris) to France's 20+.
Delgado Trapp and Acosta need to wake up and act like they want to do something out there. Put in a tackle, do SOMETHING. Showing way too much respect to their opponent.
USMNT - especiallly the newbies - being too cautious with the ball - taking too long to decide what to do - which in turn is making their actions less effective - its a vicious cycle - they need to be better i n possession but can only do so if they speed up....
He gets a little bit of a pass from me there. He certainly was expecting an outside run, which was a fair expectation..
Amon, Weah, and Sargent.. all confident and bursting at the seams to make a difference... Kudos to Sarachan for playing them but grow a pair and actually let them press higher. Telling them to sit in their own half and not press the opponent is weak.
I mean, Acosta just isn't that good. He's the kind of player you'd want on your Gold Cup B team in another USMNT universe.
A lot of people trashing Acosta, which he has earned, but notice little is being said about Delgado because he's hiding. He's not put in a single tackle yet. Inexcusable at this level. Man up or get off the field and let's get someone on who wants to go to work
He has no tactics. Don't expect too much. Sure he can put a bunch of guys on the field, but have no clue how to make them the most effective.
