Surprised to see no thread on this here. Just announced by USSF. Match will come six days prior to start of Gold Cup. A nice match for the team.
"Kickoff for the match is set for 3 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The game will also be broadcast on Telemundo and the Radio Unica network, and fans can follow the match live online via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics." check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/usasupporters there will be plenty of discussion about this match... suporter group ticket info and such we have ~350 people on the list right now we need to keep the numbers growing...
Why are the ticket prices so much cheaper for this game than the USA-Mexico game in Houston? I just paid a fortune for those tickets!!
Can you buy a combo ticket? I believe the Crew have a game that same day, I was wondering if you can get one ticket for both matches?
A friendly, live on ESPN2??? WOW!! Either ESPN is waking up to FSW, or perhaps they are starting to notice the plethora of negativism on these threads.
06 July vs Paraguay Is this game necessary? Assuming the men play in the confed final 29 june, that only leaves 2 wks to set up camp, recover from injuries and prepare game plans for the GC. On the other hand, the game would be useful if Il Bruce plans major roster changes for the two tourneys (this could be another topic: different rosters for the 2 tourneys?)
It's just another game for Bruce to feel out younger talent. However, it's not going to be highly attended..
Thanks for info. Shows you how dumb I am.... I had no idea they charged different prices for different stadiums.
sucks that it's like that...i'd take a CCS over a reliant anyday, but i'm a traditionalist and don't like all the fancy new stadiums replacing the old ones with history.
This game will be my 3rd cap, my return to national team action if you will. My other games were both at the Silverdome in a 1992 friendly against the C.I.S. team that visited here, and then of course the biggie, US-Switzerland in the World Cup. I'm definitely excited to see this one.
