once again you prove just how clueless you are. Jamaica was sold out bc it was a double header and nearly 75% of the crowd was there for the el salvador match. the second panama match was a double header with mexico playing the other game, in dallas

considering all of this, last night's attendance seems to be pretty much the norm

If you had to read about it, then obviously you weren't there, so why don't you save your criticism for yourself.

    Colombia at PPL Park.

funny thing is people bitch about attendance but its pretty level across the board for most games. save mexico in the south or a GC game or a big name team (brazil, england, argy) and you can expect about 25-30K. people that expect 60K+ for run of the mill US games are delusional

and I'll save people from bringing up Turkey last year... that was hardly a run of the mill match. that was the send off match

Agreed. In our section, some asshole in a pro-Arizona SB1070 shirt was spouting racist chants at Mexico during the first half (Mexico fans to their credit were enjoying the game and ignored him) and some douchenozzle Mexico fan threw beer after a call went against Mexico (mostly on other Mexico fans, who pointed him out and got him kicked out).

Other than that everyone was cool and having fun, good natured ribbing, strangers from different sides taking pictures together, all that. After the Mexico goal the Mexico fan across the aisle from us jumped up on the railing between sections right next to my pregnant wife; then he immediately came over to apologize and make sure she was OK, which was very considerate. I like when everyone's cool to each other and has a good time.

It's been feast or famine for Philly with national team games. None in however many years before Gold Cup 2009, and now 3 in just over a year. Now the core soccer audience in the area has Union season tickets and glamor friendlies, which will blunt demand... if only they'd come to Philly all those years before the Union was here.

In his defense, Arizona is a bit of a drive from the Linc ;)

And on another note, I can't believe how long security let that guy run on the field! Its like they just wanted him to tire himself out before they made an attempt to catch him.

Agreed, he litterally ran till he was out of breath and gave up. I am pretty sure he ran from one side of the net to the other 6 times.

They didn't show the guy who ran on the field and i know they don't want to encourage that kind of behavior but they could have given the viwers a quick peek at least. I heard he was carrying a USA flag.

    anyone have pics?

I seriously think security thought he was a player. When he was done running, he just stood there for a couple of seconds and no one gave him a look. Security also didn't kick the guy out who threw the cup holder out onto the field.

I was sitting right next to the douchnozzle who threw it, tried to tell security and they didn't give two shits.

I've got to stop coming to BigSoccer, I'm too old to understand "fail" as an entire conversation.
