The Union is doing our thing at Keegan's (email should go out tonight or early tomorrow) and I'm sure that HSH is partying at Ruby's for the match.
Keegans huh??? hmmm that is a lot closer.....would you mind a couple of "Non-Union" members joining you??
By all means, please. The more the merrier and Maruis usually gives us drink and eat specials for the big games as well.
If you're a Crew fan you're more than welcome to come to keegan's. Besides, BW's will still probably have the Super Bowl post game show on and won't want to put on US-Mexico audio in fear of pissing off their die hard NFL fans already planning for next years fantasy draft.
I think BDubs will have the US-Mexico game along with the UNC-Duke game starting at 9:00. Its going to be a night of great sports for me.
I just think it's funny the student sections rip off european football chants etc and (most) people think it's original and creative. It's amazing either team can play with all the smug filling the arena. I guess I should just be happy after that after five years of having student tickets our section doesn't suck this year.
I'll have to DVR both. At the risk of losing all of the zero credibility I had, I'm actually going to be working with the missus on a basement project all night. If I back out I may as well sleep on the couch for a week.
Screw watching a game at Buffalo Wild Wings! I have been there twice and asked for them to put on Soccer and both times have been told they couldn't! They have 50 ********ing TVs and can't figure it out? I think they only care about NFL and NCAA. Despite the temptation of a Free Coke, I think I try out Keegans! Forza Crew!
The GM showed up here along with Billy Thompson and Brian Bliss, and announced that in 09 USA vs. Mexico at Crew Stadium......
you know what, we didn't even notice them (basketball fans) at all, it was a pretty good turnout a few members of LA Turbina showed up....
BW3 was actually a lot better than I expected. We had the whole front part of the place to ourselves. They had audio on (which I could hear, but not CLEARLY, as there was quite a bit of background noise with people talking. That kind of stuff is expected though.) We had two large-screen TV's with at least one small one. The TVs were set to ESPN2HD, but I didn't notice the HD bit. Maybe they need some upgrades in the "HD department", maybe it wasn't the right lighting conditions, I don't know. I didn't venture into the back, but there were signs posted mentioning that college basketball fans should go back there for their audio. I saw one guy in a UNC jersey, and about 10-15 green soccer jerseys. There were no problems with any of them, AFAIK.
The HD feed at my house looked good when my DVR wasn't ruining it. Missed most of the scoring. Looks like I will be renewing my tickets for 2009 no matter what, to obtain the precious gold that is a USA/Mexico ticket. Although the way we played Wed who knows what the game will look like...
