...between the Women's national teams (sorry if I gave you a different idea). I have a pretty good idea what the response might be for this, but what do all of you think about traveling to San Diego's Torrero Stadium to attend this match as a group (it's on a Sunday)? Having talked to many of you here in LA, many have expressed interest in supporting the Women as well. This would also be a good opportunity to work together and develop trust and a working relationship with a our nearest chapter in San Diego (assuming that they would want to join us). And it's always fun to get together and heckle Mexico (regardless of gender). Here's the ticket prices: http://www.ussoccer.com/Schedule-Tickets/2010/100328-US-Women-vs-Mexico-Women.aspx What do you say? If yes, then great. Lets start generating ideas. If no, why not? Would distance, price, or gender preference factor into your decision?
CNNSI is saying Rio Tinto Stadium March 31st. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/soccer/wires/02/09/2050.ap.soc.us.women.mexico.0075/index.html
They are playing on both dates against Mexico. I mention the match on the 28th as it is closer to LA. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Womens...stic-Schedule-Against-Mexico-on-March-28.aspx Per google maps, Tucson is about 400 miles closer to San Diego than Salt Lake. If we can get an Outlaws tailgate and supporters section going, you guys should come.
I know a bunch of LA folks have been talking to Yumi down here in San Diego. Please accept our invitation to come down and support US Soccer. We will be opening early at O'Brien's with local beers on special and then heading down to the game - USD is less than 10 minutes away just down the same street we are on. We'll have games on tape from that weekend to re-show when we open. Looking forward to having you all down here. Cheers, Tom Nickel - owner, O'Brien's pub, California's only official US Soccer Bar.
We are a little over a week away from kick off. If you are interested in joining the American Outlaws supporters section, let us know as soon as possible. The info is on our homepage: http://la.theamericanoutlaws.com/
Here are a few pictures from the match: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=57578&id=1320799358&l=650a1490c8 If anyone else has some, feel free to post them here, or in the San Diego Chapter thread.
