Just not an accurate portrayal of that game. For one thing, Panama was never leading, scoring to tie the game 4 minutes after Brazil opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. Brazil scored, and hit off the crossbar 5 times. Panama scored off of a set piece and had 22 percent possession.
Self-quoting to add: drawing that Brazil team, in Brazil, is still impressive. Just that it had more to do with luck than was implied by the post. I'd still expect Brazil and the USA to beat Panama.
TBF, Morris kept cutting inside to his left foot which is more of a floppy appendage incapable of moving the ball more than a dribble away from his body. The only time he looked dangerous was one of the too few times he stuck to the right and crossed in a ball with his only foot that works. See Zardes miss to Ariola smash that was incorrectly called offsides. I felt like his cutting I side log jammed all attacking efforts by further compacting the defense to the inside while not producing any benefit actual or possible. Too bad about Wes as I think a more focused right wing attacker would open up space for him, and subsequently CP/Zardes, to work within. Hopefully someone else gets that run out for Morris
I thought it was Wes who was making Morris look bad. It would be interesting to hear an independent view from an expert on such things.
