Looking forward to seeing Eyestone. He was an interesting pro prospect at FC Dallas.

The attacking 4 looks like a nice group.

 

This Marcus Chairez dude said on the Scuffed podcast that he thought Nsien considered Eyestone the #1 goalkeeper given that he originally called up Kochen Beavers and Eyestone... does this confirm it?

No. #1 is starting in the QF. The same as with the rest of positions.

 

Yeah. That's the game to point for. We'll find out who Nsien trusts the most to get a result.

 

The frontrunning threesome of Gozo, Figueroa and Berchimas is pretty high octane.

Also looking forward to seeing Taha Habroune get a start.

Great ball in goes unplayed into the net - 1-0 Tsakiris, but Kohler may have touched it

 

Definitely feels a little against the run of play. Cuba has to be disappointed to let such an easy one in

 

Looks like Kohler got a slight touch on a Tsakaris FK for the goal

 

Are they checking the dumbest rule in all of sport -- the "guy was in the area of the gk and offside and we can never call this consistently"?

 

Our touches inside the box need to improve, greatly.

I think the goal settled the US a bit and took some wind out of Cuba's sails. Now it looks to be settling into how a figured it would go...the US with most of the possession and Cuba being pinned back and hoping for the occasional counter.

 

Gozo 2-0

 

Tsakiris has been the truth. Berchimas showing a lot of his potential. Really enjoying the composure across the US. We take space that's there, we don't rush passes when unpressured.

 

I have no idea how that went in. It looked like it was struck directly at the keeper.
