I don't possibly see how O'Hara can suddenly start at left back in such an important game. It's either LePeilbet/Buehler/Rampone/Mitts or LePeilbet/Sauerbrunn/Rampone/Buehler (the lineup for Mexico and Guatemala).

That last one seems like Coach Sundhage's favored approach to replacing Krieger. It's understandable that during a game, Sundhage preferred not to switch things around, sending Buehler from the center to the right side, but went for a straight switch, Mitts in place of Krieger.

Wow, total brain freeze on my part. I think you're right that it'll be Buehler out wide and Sauerbrunn sliding into the middle.

I'm excited to see O'Hara and O'Reilly on at the same time, with the attacking mentality and accuracy both have shown in this tournament. It would be nice to have A-Rod on the pitch as well, though.

So much so that the "injured" Hope Solo will be in the net...

I just realized I had the game times mixed up and I had made plans for the night. I better get a good data signal where I'm going.

if you've played sports, you know about having a little muscle tweak, not necessarily a pull (Pulled Muscle). it happen to me in football, esp if you're in the secondary and the other team can't get past your line-backers. hence, you become cold and tight. it's not like Solo had much action that night to stay warm and loose.

like i said, she hammed it for the cameras, esp how she looked up at the jumbo-tron while she was rubbing her leg, made sure she was looking nice. she'll be in net tonight profiling and making faces as usual.

as far as pia, you'd think she'd sit her 38 yr old captain. i can assume if she pulls rampone you can get threw balls on her defense like cutting butter with a hot knife. i wouldn't want the top teams to see that as a weakness.

I wanted to see becky instead of beuhler, obviously.
I also wanted to see Arod on wing again. She was showing nice potential and actually tracking back to play good D.
Heath might be the weakest link on this team, but she could easily prove me wrong.

very excited to Ohara though. (Is she starting right???)

Anybody getting any sound out of the universal online video?

Sitting Becky in the most important game is laughable right? I guess we should give up trying to understand Pia's logic b/c she is a woman after all. :D

Has Heath magically learned to play the wing?

Did I miss that part of her development?

No you are just witnessing her development now ;) The past few games that Heath has played Pia has favored her on the left wing and puts Cheney in the attacking mid spot. However, those two are pretty interchangeable during the match and often swap spots depending on the flow of the game.

No you didn't. She did play LW in WWC last summer— not particularly well but.... I think Pia feels confident about this game and is just giving her a shot to play because she hasn't seen the field since game one.

This lineup tells me that Pia really wants to explore all of her options at RB and take a real look at O'Hara in a pressure situation.

The Irish lasses give the U.S. a pretty speedy right flank.
