I believe I saw somewhere where they said the match was on pay per view. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks for the help.

I read about it on soccertv.com that it will be on DirectTV...

$19.95 (US) will be the cost to watch the game. Hopefully Sportsnet (in Canada) will be able to pick up the game on tape delay.

I wish CBC showed CNT games. At least those of us in the Northern US would be able to see it for free...

soccertv.com has an ad for the match on its ad board; DirectTV only......this was the final straw for me i switched from DISH to DirectTV over the weekend and am glad I did!

    I wished that too!

So far we have not heard of any tv coverage in Canada, incidentally. It could be that it gets shown on tape delay on Sportsnet (a prominent sports cable network), as that is what happened with the final U20 qualifying match last month.

With CBC's coverage of international badminton, bobsled, curling, and ping pong (all legit programming shown on CBC) you would think they could squeeze in a US-Canada soccer game.

You guys get a Canadian channel? What, is your cable company to cheap for another shopping network?

Does anyone have a clue as to why ESPN or ESPN2 isn't showing this game? I think I can imagine ABC not showing a rather meaningless Friendly on a "busy" (football? baseball? basketball or hockey?) Saturday, but why not the other guys? I mean, they show the El Salvador home match, didn't they? That was just as "meaningless"...

Simple.. the time is blocked off for college hoops, IIRC. That's why there is a noon kickoff for the Argentina match.

The problem is broadcasting rights for the CNT's. Up to teh '98 WCQ, TSN held the broadcasting rights. When the contract expired, the CSA went with the popular flow and signed on with Sportsnet.

Given the way how Canadian soccer has been recently handled by Sportsnet, it certainly wasn't a bright idea.:D

....i am looking forward to seeing the USMNT team play regularly over the next few months; hope Cory Gibbs makes the gameday roster for the Canada match. Glad that i'll be able to watch the Yanks play on DirecTV at least.

I am so frustrated with Dish Network. Since I switched from Directv last year, Dish Network has not shown one U.S. game that has been on other systems. This is after years of soccer they use to show. Also, it seems, the stopped showing all international matches as well. What the heck is going on here? I am going to switch back to Directv as well. I called Dish Network in Colorado and they told me the head of programming is Michael Schwimmer. I have a friend who works at Dish Network and their emails are first name.last name@echostar.com. So I imagine his is Michael.Schwimmer@echostar.com or Mike.Schwimmer@echostar.com. If anyone is as pissed off as I am, please email him your complaints. I did already.

Sportsnet has done a better job with Canadian soccer than anyone else ever did.
Is their contract with CSA over?

I don't think their CSA contract is up.

Either way, the game will be shown live in Canada on Fox Sports World Canada, which is great if you have digital cable, Bell ExpressVu or StarChoice.

I suppose people with grey market DirectTV dishes can also get the match somehow.
