i looked at gingers website and it didnt have it listed on upcoming events or sports. How did you hear about it?
A guy at Setanta Sport told me Gingers will be able to show the game, but I haven't checked with Gingers.
The woman who just answered the phone at Gingers said they are showing USA-Canada live on Saturday and would update their website tomorrow.
They're showing it at arrowhead? Is this in a hunt-style pavilion or in the stadium? Gonna be down there anyway, might as well stay a day...of course, it'll be really fricking cold out there... [edit] Wait a minute, this article on the wiz site says that the showing is for Crusaders and those who wish to become Crusaders. Guess that's a no go. http://www.kcwizards.com/news/interiornewspage.asp?story_id=M78QC6TEW6I7RB6IAC2PARX84W
You could pretend to show interest and then after the game's over say that you've decided their outfit is too lame and that you're going to move to Chicago to be with some "real" fans.
speaking of kansas city conversation i JUST had. bethany-if you rearrange the letters in kansas city wizards you get... me- ? bethany- wank crazy sadists! it totally works me- what the hell? i think that sums it up. to the point? i'll be there on saturday.
Ginger's is a nice place. I am not much for bars but this is a cut or two above the norm. I think it is fine for kids who are 6 and 10. The main area has a big bar and tables where people eat meals. There is also a pool table. The bathrooms are clean but a bit beat up. It is at 3801 N. Ashland, a good area of town. You can park on the street if you are willing to walk a couple of minutes. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Ravenswood Metra Station and roughly the same from the nearest brown line El station. In the past USMNT watch parties-which involve a fee-were put in a separate room connected to the main room. In the separate room they have a bar and not too many places to sit but it is quieter and not as smoky. A few weeks ago I emailed Ginger's asking them to show the US-Canada game. Now my wife has made plans for a dinner party that she is excited about, so I will not be able to attend. Too bad because these events are usually a lot of fun, with friendly Fire fans to chat with.
I'm a friend of the owner and he told me they were showing it, with Fire players present. (That last bit came from the Fire office.) Oops, should have read the rest of the posts. I see you've already gotten the info you need!
Saturday, January 18, 2003. The game is ONLY available via pay per view. I heard that it would run about $20 on systems that carry it.
