Yes, the USSF and/or Bruce might not want it shown for assorted reasons. Or they simply don't want the expense of production and airtime.
Women's college hoops from 4-6. Filler until 7 when the Aussie Open is on. In contrast, FSC is showing a game that you can catch that same morning.
HDNet has shown the odd U.S. game before. and at some point, GolTV will get in on the USNT. They do have a relationship with the USSF, covering the USOC Final.
As much as I love and appreciate FSC, the decision to show a replayed EPL game instead of buying the rights to a live Nats game is really poor and not at all in tune with the channel's stated goals. 1200 live and exclusive matches eh?
The game is actually 5 PT and 8 ET. I was misreading it all along. So it is the Aussie Open on ESPN2 and the EPL Review show and Dream Team on FSC.
So, essentially, FSC is passing on showing a live Nats game for a review show and a soap opera. They'll be hearing about this from me.
And skating on ESPN1? Which I guess is their counterprogramming to the NFL playoffs? I don't know which is worse, the ESPN family ignoring their "responsibilities" as the "US Nats/Offical WC network" or FSC as the "soccer network". A pox on both your houses, I say..........
Do you have anything except blatant speculation to support the view that Ussoccer does not want this game on TV??
That's because they would never have sent an entire broadcast crew and since no American crew will be doing it they will see nothing in Canada either.. It's too expensive for them to do it all unless they wanted to out of the kindness of their hearts...
Nope. Do you have anything to support that ESPN and FSC are "ignoring their responsibilities" as soccer networks?
FSC has no choice, they show other peoples broadcasts. Someone else would have to be filming it in order for them to air it. Sucks, but the bottom line is Soccer (especially friendlies against such international superpowers like Canada) aren't interesting enough to take presidence over live Golf/Tennis/Women's Basketball/Iceskating/etc. It's come along way but not that long, not yet at least.
Yes.. The friendly vs Colombia that the US won 3-0.. Clint scored directly from a corner... The only highlights were field level...
1. I have a feeling the skating was set up loooooooong before the friendly. b. Skating murders soccer in the ratings. iii. Soccer isn't on ESPN anymore, with the exception of the World Cup. It's on ESPN2.
I don't know when it was set up, but the US Skating Championships were last weekend, it's being broadcast then for the female counterprogramming to the NFL, I assume. ESPN2 is the problem.Sounds like a good time to use Classic again...
US Soccer has a feedback form for comments/questions... I just wrote to them asking why the game wasn't going to be on and if there was anything the supporters could do to help ensure this doesn't happen again (especially to a game in a world cup year!)... http://www.ussoccer.com/feedback/default.sps
