Wrong forum maybe, but is there any reason that this game is being played on Sunday against the NFL Playoffs instead of Saturday?
Because I think the NFL schedule is about the last thing that was considered when the game was planned. I'm not trying to be a dick and I wish it were on TV, but I think this has nothing to do with the NFL at all. I assume timing had to do with the venue and the opposition.
I don't think that factors in at all. And if the game turns out to not be broadcast, I doubt that fact will factor into whether Bruce dresses or plays Freddy for the game.
Well you'll have to explain to me how they would know when Freddy's first cap would take place with the proper advance warning to assure that the game is on TV. Other than forcing Arena's hand in choosing his lineup (which as sure as you are about the USSF and Freddy, I'm doubly sure they couldn't do that) there is no way to actually acomplish what you are suggesting.
If they're willing to let a game go untelevised, as appears to be the case, then that's the risk you take.
And I'm willing to agree that you're an a-hole that always has to make someone else feel inferior for having a different opinion.
You can, it just doesn't do anything since everyone has zero rep points. I understand resetting the system, but I don't think they thought this one out very well.
According any modicum of intelligence to the USSF is mistake #1 Mistake #2 is thinking Bruce Arena gives two damns what anyone at Soccer House thinks or let anyon einfluence his decisions..
My guess is that ESPN already has seven games scheduled through the end of May, the game was set up without their schedule in mind (women's hoops is on until 6 eastern) and FSC didn't feel like paying to show it (they are showing the Manchester derby instead at that time.) I think the Fed scheduled a game to meet their needs regarding time and location and it didn't fit into the schedules/budgets/karma of either of the broadcast suspects. It sucks, but I'll survive.
This would be the perfect time for them to put up a digital version of the game. Maybe 2 files -- one for each half. The diehards would like to see this and you could watch it on your computer or iPod or whatever.
You'd think that, but the guys running the website actually do a pretty good job. -- Matchtracker for a few years now. -- Podcasts. -- Lots of news updates (press releases) and information that's not game-specific. I've got a lot of complaints about the USSF, but they seem to have their sh!t together on the site. Maybe they should put them in charge of ticketing.
is this game going to be aired on Rogers Sportsnet in canada? they usually broadcast all canada games, even friendlies.
