It’s not just one man, as we held our own in the first half. But Adams, Tessmann, Cardoso, and Musah are our only CMs that should see time. And that’s plenty. Roldan and Berhalter are not good enough.
Can’t wait to see everyone spin this towards their already entrenched narratives. Stay safe out there BS!
Reminds me of the Gregg answer in the lead up to Qatar. What did you learn from today's match? "Things. We learned things"
One reason these in-the-moment threads suck so, so much is that everyone who can’t distinguish between a player having a bad game, and a player being bad, comes out in droves. And the same goes for when we win; there’s a difference between a player having a good game, and a player being good.
As far as I can tell he's never played a single good minute for the USMNT but he gets some magical cloak that protects him from any accountability for it.
Haha, sure. It's highly likely that between now and the World Cup, this team will suddenly become a cohesive, consistent, high-quality squad coached by a genius who will have the best line-up and will foster the best from every excellent player. NOT
Every spring we get suckered by the media into playing "the real players" and every year we get smoked.
True. As a Milanista, I can attest to that. He's been VERY inaccurate in his finishing, since December. He hasn't scored for Milan in 3 months.
Here’s an example. Why is this match the truth and the Uruguay match the illusion? They both happened. They are both us. We are better than we played today, and we aren’t as good as we were vs Uruguay.
One positive might be how clearly certain edge players and a couple of clearly wtf guys like Ream stepped in it so badly. Better to be a disaster Regis style in a spring friendly ‘02, rather than at the WC.
Berhalter won lots of trophies. Pochettino will leave this job having won nothing and having done nothing of note.
But the worrying thing about this performance wasn’t that Belgium(Doku aside) were all over the US, it’s that the US simply collapsed quite easily from looking pretty even in the first half. Yes, going behind a goal is one thing but shipping 3 more easily is worrying for this team.
