It's a shame we can;t do a ftp dump type thing so anyone who has USA clips can just easily upload it and everyone can access it by downloading it. Bit Torrent is great for full length games, but no for the 50 or so clips that are available....
Why not? I've used BT to download archives of multiple files. If one person has all the clips and can archive them together appropriately, BT would work fine, would it not?
Actual Bittorrent is the best thing for these small clips. They transfer faster and its a much better use of bandwidth than having that guy who kind enough to run that MSU site for us upload em when we want. Bittorrent is excellent for small files.
How does one make a torrent? I have the file in question. I am still perplexed by this torrent thing. What's the legality of it? I assume the vid clips are ok....
Seconded... I'm really confused about the torrent thing as well. And yes, I'm a newbie to the torrent deal so spare the requisite insults . I'd appreciate any info.
yea, this process needs to be easier.... I've got stuff to offer, but nowhere for it to go.... soccer....US soccer.... MLS soccer....
There is a good post on going DVD-to-AVI, then how to share it via a bit Torrent program, in another post: USA_Vids_Post If you guys are talking about VHS-to-AVI that involves slightly different software, but I won't go into it as I've only done the DVD-to-AVI. I would recommend Googling it or seeing if another BS poster will help you out. Just keep in mind there is nothing particularly "special" about a torrent file itself. You do not have to transfer a computer-ready (mpeg, avi, etc) video format into a torrent. Rather by creating a torrent you share "bits" of the file with other people across the net by posting certain information about the file to a tracker site, such as its location (IP address), content, title, etc. When you download a "torrent" all the initial file (the .torrent itself) contains is such info, then you download the actual video (or any other file for that matter) separately via the bit torrent client software.
Does anyone here have the space or bandwith to host all the USA video torrents? Or could we make a network of different hosts? Forgive me if this has been answered already and I am just too stupid. Cause I am.
Just got the US - Jamaica game from the the Hunt Park Insider. Could that place eventually become a source for US vids?
Depends on your DVD player, but yes, and this site should answer most of your questions as to how... Personally though, I think it's worth it to just get a good DVD Burner...
Once again, is anyone here able to host some USA vid clip torrents.... not only full games... Jest curious....
Someone in the Dutch soccer forum on here put this link up... http://voetbalclips.50megs.com/ It has highlights of some PSV goals, incase anyone's interested in spying Beasley's first. Nice effort.
The following is not a video clip but if you are a USMNT freak like me you'll enjoy it -- especially if you have a tape of the game and watch it with the audio turned off and use this MP3 instead. It is the BBC broadcast of the US v Wales match a while back. It has a nice pre and post game to boot. I'll leave it up for a short period, maybe someone else with some bandwidth can host it. http://www.adsites.biz/temp/USvWalesBBC.mp3
Maybe someone who has the video of the game can splice out the old audio, and put in the BBC audio, and then upload it as a torrent? BTW.... how'd you come across this one? Don;t have to answer that....
I think I caught wind of a link somewhere, tuned in and to my surprise found the file in my cache. I actually taped both the ESPN and Telemundo broadcasts as well. Get it while ya can!
This is my favorite goal by any Yank abroad. Now if Clint would only produce strikes like this one for the USMNT... Mathis' goal Depending on your connection, might take a little time to download.
