Also if there's a lack of communication/organization from Ream, why is he even on the national team?

Poch's only win vs a top 30 team was vs Panama in his debut... since then 7 losses in a row

I am at the point where I just expect to always lose. I just wrote another post on this, but Sargent is never going to produce anything for the National team.

I watch him like a hawk because I’m dying to see it from him but nope. He’s skilled, good touch, he can hold it, but he’s ponderous in movement and he’s kind of slow which hurts the press. I don’t know if he’s actually slow, but he moves slow so what’s the difference?

Fair point. Our star players just don’t inspire any confidence. I know this is controversial, but the older generation of stars produced under these circumstances. No need to name names. I think we all know.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s lost some of the locker room.

Adams plays much better when he doesn’t think he’s god’s gift to a team. Same with Pulisic.

His movement feels glacial to me. Top players have an explosive quality to their game. Sargent doesn’t have that gear. At least I’ve never seen it.

We should forget that term. It’s a misnomer. We’re just not that talented. Our stars just are too complacent and are not talented enough to carry the team.

How you have Berhalter on the field and still allow Pulisic to take and waste free kicks is beyond me.

Jack McGlynn came on vs Panama in the Nations League semifinal with the US in need of a goal and Pulisic was still taking his predictably lousy free kicks... what do you expect Poch to do, actually coach the team??

You are one of those posters who like to talk about judging the player not the league and then bring up this nonsense "You have McKenzie and then two Scottish league players who are a similar level as the guys we have in MLS". Trusty was a standout defender in MLS which is why Arsenal signed him. He had good seasons in the EFL and EPL before he signed for Celtic and had very good performances in last season's UCL against teams like Bayern. Judge the player not the league, right.

Blackmon is nowhere near Beckerman's level or profile. Dreds was a perennial MLS ALL Star from 2009 to 2013 when JK called him in 2011. He did not fit BB's style but thankfully Klinsmann had a better eye for talent.

Blackmon is having a good season because Vancouver is having a good season. At 29 he is a journeyman and is not doing much better that Zimmerman or Miles in MLS this season. Both Zimmerman (aerial dominance) and Miles (aerial, pace, quickness) have high international defensive qualities that Blackmon lack.

I sort of had a trauma response when we subbed Roldan into the game in the second half.

I’m going into this World Cup cycle with zero expectations. I think there is a high probability we get embarrassed. We might just get our asses kicked at home.

Winning is a habit developed over time.

We have been losing for so long now I think that is what this team knows.

i dont want to get too involved in this thread, my goal is to get into this window as a whole after the next match.

what i will say is the only player i thought played outside of their spectrum and independent of our idiotic setup/tactics is luna, who couldnt find the match at all.

    that was a bummer.

What are you talking about? Trusty was dreadful in the Premier League. And he's been poor enough for Celtic that he lost his starting job to Liam Scales. That's not good...

I’ve finally come to that conclusion. We are just not very good. We’ve not been very competitive with this generation. The results are objectively clear. Best result was the England tie.

And we dominated the gold cup for a couple of years… that’s it.

Did you watch Trusty and CCV v Bayern? How did they compare to Blackmon v Son?

    Case closed.

How many of them had zero caps at any level of international play at 29 years old?

Like, do we really think this guy just *snap* figured it out all of a sudden? Or is the player that he has been for the duration of his 8-year professional career more indicative of his quality?

He's just a flash point from this match though. The fact that we're still trotting out Tim Ream's corpse is even more ridiculous. Starting them together is a not-very-funny joke.

The issue with Sargent is this:

    130, 152, 0, 203

In reverse order, that's the number of US minutes he has had in each of the last 4 years. No shit he never looks dangerous - he never plays with this team. No striker is ever going to look good with that amount of playing time.

Agyemang got more minutes at the Gold Cup than Sargent has gotten in 4 years. That's an insane way to develop a national team program.

    We’re gonna get dog walked.

This is not a serious roster. We’re missing far too many important players and (should be) starters.
