Yeah, that right. They deserve an beat down on the pitch.

I think energetic youthfulness and the press are our big advantages. Hopefully we can recover in time and can make 90 min without issue.

I don’t know enough about the Dutch to know what I can say to really offend them. I’m going to need some help with this.

    Revenge in goals please.
Not just because the US would definitely get red carded for a late bone breaking challenge like that.

(Which didn't even get a card and it was a friendly omg SO BAD gaaaah).

Tell them Dest was too good for them. Then call them Germans. Then call Zwarte Piet racist. That should do it.

They were on the back foot for much of the Senegal match as well. I remember thinking if Mane had been healthy, Senegal would have at least had the lead early.

If Sargent can’t go, our striker depth is looking pretty suspect. Wright has arguably been the worst US player this tournament, and JF hasn’t obviously hasn’t played and wasn’t in great form the last couple months. Hopefully taking 4 RB’s instead of 4 strikers doesn’t come back to bite us

It appears they haven’t lost in like 18 games - and they have rotated a bit this cup. Definitely not an easy game but could have been worse.

If we get past the Dutch, our next rival would be either France or Argentina, probably.

I can see us making it hard for France. Argentina would be a terrible matchup though.

If getting past the Dutch is a 30% proposition, getting past Argentina or France is more around 5%.

PS: Anyone remember those old arcade soccer games that were like a table, back in the 80s? Tekhan World Cup and such?

No, France should be 1D which is on England’s side. Argentina is likely, yes.
I’ll take Netherlands and Argentina as the path any day. Avoid Brazil, France and Spain.

After what these guys did to England, they’re not going to fear the Dutch at all.

    It’s on, folks.

After we beat Ned, we’ll likely play Arg/Den in Round of 8, then would play Bra/Esp in Semis and then would play Fra/Eng/Port in the Finals. I would take a rematch vs Eng in the finals. That would be quite an epic match.

If he’s healthy perhaps this is a game that LDLT can play a bit off the bench. Having played in the Dutch league, this might be the sort of game your comfortable putting him out there.

Hopefully Pulisic trying to get back in the game means his injury won’t be so bad.

Beyond Aaronson and Reyna, what other position has someone who could step in without a significant drop off?

Kellyn Acosta, Luca de la Torre, and Cristian Roldan. If the US is going to win a few more matches in the next 2.5 weeks, then one of these players is going to need to step up off the bench. I think the concept of Kellyn Acosta as a sub for anybody but Adams has failed, so will Berhalter be willing to turn to the other two (or have Reyna or Aaronson play deeper on the field)?

Thats been a gripe of mine too. Kellyn Acosta is not an 8. One thousand times. He is not an 8. He is an 8 like he is a right back (and hes not a right back either). It needs to be 6 or nothing for that guy.

And if Sargent cant go, and we are even entertaining the thought of Haji again at forward, why not roll JMo at the 9? He at least puts in a shift.
