http://ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_5210122.html Looks like a ton of coverage including (note...all times ET): - press conference at 5pm today with BB and Howard streamed live at ussoccer.com - USA v. Mexico from last year's 2-0 victory on ESPN Classic at noon tomorrow - Studio 90 at 5pm on ussoccer.com with a bunch of features including the new jerseys, a Jozy interview, and Dempsey's trip from Fulham to the USA - Pregame warmups on ussoccer.com at 8:30pm including starting lineups - Pregame on ESPN2 at 9pm - Game at 9:25 on ESPN2 and Univision - Post game press conference on ussoccer.com and ESPN360 immediately after the game
There's a pretty good podcast of Bradley's press conference in Houston in front of both American and Mexican media. He reiterates a lot of the obvious, but given that that's always a given with coaches' official statements, it's rather interesting that he repeatedly refers to a "new era" of young talent on both teams. I find it interesting given that earlier in the week he'd spoken of the young talent of both Mexico and the US, mentioning that both teams had been bringing them along slowly, but that it's important to see their progress in big matches. Earlier, he'd generally downplayed the role of the starlets verbally. Whether that affects either his or Hugo's starting line-up is questionable (well, in Hugo's case, I'm pretty willing to bet we'll see at least Vela in the starting line-up), but it does seem promising that we'll see these guys on the field at some point.
Apparently this Fútbol de Primera Radio Network has a Spanish Language broadcast of the game... Does anyone know where the Houston affiliate is on the dial? I was thinking of bringing a little radio into the game to help me keep track of things... I can probably find it easy enough, but I'd rather go straight to it than have to hunt for it...
I thought the ESPN news anchor did a good job w/ the dempsey interview. The anchor seemed quite knowledgable on the game as well as whats going on w/ fulham, dempsey and the other yanks at USA FC. Good stuff.
Just rewatched USA/Mexico from last year on Classic. I think this year's game will be more exciting, and last years was pretty good! Up next: - studio 90 at 5pm ET on ussoccer.com (special on the new home kits, interview with Jozy, feature on Dempsey) - warm ups on ussoccer.com at 8:30 ET including starting lineups - pregame on ESPN2 at 9 ET - kickoff at 9:25 ET - Post game on ussoccer.com and ESPN360
Unless you specifically want to listen to the game in Spanish you have another option. Houston's 790 AM "The Sports Animal" will be broadcasting the play-by-play of Glenn Davis in English. Streaming online at: http://790thesportsanimal.com/cc-common/streaming_new/index.html
it seems like the ussoccer.com server is nonexistant. i cant even get the main page to load. (every other website i go to works)
Down for me too. There can't be that many people interested in the pre-game coverage.....could there?
No luck here either - maybe there are just too many fans from both sides trying to get on.. this has never happened before
Man this really is frustrating. Wonder if this is because of high traffic or just technical difficulties. I checked the MNT blog which still works to see if they had a notice about the trouble or starting lineups like they sometimes do but no such luck.
Anybody that can access the Studio90 piece and can provide some highlights will be rewarded with positive rep.
I had it through the "one-on-one" with Jozy...but then it spaced while trying to load the Dempsey feature.
The truth, man some times USsoccer makes Alexi Lalas look competent in comparison, this is just piss poor planning.
speaking of planning anyone else notice that for the second year in a row the US is competing with Duke v UNC
