I'm interested to see where this one is played. I would guess that Seattle and KC are two prime candidates for one of the remaining Hex matches, and there is a good chance that one of those locations get this one.
I think Seattle would be good but considering it's mid season and we have an away game in panama, I'm guessing it's in Florida or somewhere southern.
I would be good with either option. I like the idea of playing this in a location that will be fairly cold.
Just like the last Hex cycle, Denver should get the June 9 game in preparation for the high-altitude game in Mexico City, four days later. Highly unlikely to be another Snow Clasico, though.
Never say never. Day before the snow Classico was 70 degrees, and the snow Classico ranks 9th in Denver history. 9 of the 20 worst blizzards in city history came in March or April. And the latest snow came in June 12th, 1947
Not just play T&T in Denver or Commerce City, but assemble the team and train at elevation for at least two weeks before, a la 1997.
Bundesliga season ends May 20. Just need to get MLS on board. Problem solved. Now how 'bout that Honduras match? I'm up for a trip to Kansas.
Good idea. However, let's not get so wrapped up in the trip to Mexico City that we lose sight of the fact that we have to get three points at home against Trinidad.
A Rocky Mountain game would make more sense for T&T IMO, the Carribean teams historically struggle at altitude. Avaya is an awesome stadium, was selfishly hoping this one would be in Seattle or Portland but SJ is a good choice. Guessing the remaining three WCQs will go to KC, Denver or SLC, and somewhere in the northeast (Philly, Foxboro, or Hartford).
Wow, too bad those of you flying in will probably have to go back to your hotels to drop off your luggage first. The stadium is literally next to the air field. For those of you who flew in for our Copa game at Levi's Stadium you'll be in for a better experience at Avaya.
Don't get to travel much for games but given the current situation with the qualifying campaign and coaching change and just how crucial this game is...I just can't miss it. Whatever happens I need to be in the stadium to see it. To give something to the cause even if it's just my voice. I can't call myself a real supporter if I'm not there when the going gets tough. And make no mistake, this is some high wire tightrope stuff. Going into a game this big with this much uncertainty is, I think, unprecedented in my fandom. And I was at the SnoClasico but really trusted the team to get all 3 points on the day. So I've begun making travel arrangements and the funniest part is ... the very best I can hope to get out of all this is a sigh of relief. Ahhh fandom.
