USA v. HON Watching Party in DFW

Discussion in 'Dallas Chapter' started by TheDallasPerspective, Oct 7, 2009.

  1. FC Dallas, our hometown professional team, has purchased the USA v. Honduras match and will show it at the Stadium Club! Better yet, there will be NO COVER CHARGE!

For those of you who haven’t made it out to Pizza Hut Park, it is a spanking new facility at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Main St. in Frisco. The Stadium Club is an attached indoor facility with many monitors, a bar, a restaurant, and overlooks the pitch that is FC Dallas’s home field!

FC Dallas has invited all American Outlaw members and friends to attend this watching party. As this is the only English-lanugage broadcast shown in the entire Metroplex, FC Dallas is expecting anywhere from 200 to 500 for this match, so I suggest you get there early!

    WHO: FC Dallas

WHAT: CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Final Round, Match Day 9

WHEN: Saturday, October 10, doors open at 7:00 PM, kickoff at 9:00 PM

WHERE: The Stadium Club at Pizza Hut Park

VOLUNTEERS: With the anticipated turnout and unprecedented opportunity to reach the folks who usually follow the USMNT from their homes, DFWAO will need volunteers to help run the table and work the room. Please send an email using our CONTACT page on this website.

BAR AND RESTAURANT: The bar and restaurant will be open from 7:00 PM until midnight. The restaurant serves American casual (hamburgers, salads, etc.) and the bar serves beer, wine, and cocktails.

    UNDER 21S: Welcome! It’s a family atmosphere!

TAILGATING: FC Dallas mentioned that there are usually some folks from the FCD supporters group The Inferno that come out and tailgate before matches, and they anticipate the same for this event.

OCTOBER 14: For the Costa Rica match on October 14, we will be back at our regular party place, Trinity Hall.

    See you there!

  2. Everyone: as this is the only English-language broadcast in DFW, anticipating the attendance is a crapshoot. Obviously, FCD is confident that there will be enough people to justify purchasing the match and opening the Stadium Club.

But if the anecdotal stuff is true, then all the people who usually follow the USMNT from their homes/dorms/groups are coming. All the different places that regularly show USMNT games - Londoner, Dubliner, etc. - they're all coming. All the people who usually go to Trinity Hall - they're coming. All the people who just like a good party - they're coming.

Add to that that the USMNT can clinch passage to South Africa with a win, and we could be looking at a great number of people.

The location provides plenty of room for traffic and parking, so no problem there. But I would suggest arriving around 6:00 PM to ensure a good seat. Kickoff isn't until 9:00, but tailgating is allowed in the parking lot and the Stadium Club has a restaurant and bar, all sorts of sports will be on the TVs until the USMNT game starts.

And besides the Stadium Club, there are several other bars and restaurants all within a half-mile or so, all kinds of different food and drink.
