Only 23 field players get chosen. There will always be guys left off fans, or the player themselves, think was unfairly dropped. "But it's different about my guy." No, no it's not. Let's move on to the players who are on the team.

 

Huge Musah fan but his decision-making remains suspect. I have watched every Milan game over the last 3 years. Lots of giveaways by Musah in bad positions. And heads-down dribbling, he's missed passing options. I'm hoping I'm wrong but he may have hit his ceiling. he's phenomental in upfield-slaloming with the ball, but can't pass and can't finish.

 

I think I've learned more about AI in the last few posts than I have in the last few years.

 

I think it's actually pretty important people have as much of an understanding as you can about how these things work because it really changes how you view what comes out of them.

The other thing I would say is that a lot of what is said here is the Large Language Models -- there's other algorithmic tools out there that functions somewhat differently, and even the models you hear can function more specifically in different contexts.

They are very interesting and in many cases, very useful, but they largely aren't really what people think they are. In many ways, they are worse in the results (but can sound better) when the data set or task is poorly defined.

 

When I stop and remember these are businesses, it all makes perfect sense... the marketing guys got involved!

 

It's actually kind of interesting -- Anthropic (Claude) definitely built something more practical and for business and OpenAI (ChatGPT) went for hype. The latter got all the press but is somewhat scrambling to monetize now when they realize there's not a lot of money in memes.

 

Which is what I said. At the time the ball is kicked, you either are going to get the offside call or you will not. You have to get goal-side after that, otherwise you get "Havertzed". There is usually a delay between when the ball is played and when the linesman raises his/her flag, so you cannot assume anything. You just get goal-side and hope for the best.

 

Sure there can be guys assigned to purely mark space on set pieces but I don’t think Miles or Ream were those guys. They were on the ST and a CB, high priority marks. Maybe they were just assigned lanes. No matter what when a guy is in your lane or if you are matched up with him you have to react to this movement to prevent your closest teammate from having to mark 2 players.
