Why would Milan fans care about the USMNT???? This is the way every fan group would be in a similar circumstance. They understand Pulisic's importance to them having a good season. ......................how did Bayern Munich fans react to Alphonso Davies getting injured on Canada duty?
Fans are fans. Fans being short for fanatics. Milan fans shouldn't give a crap about the USMNT. Pochettino and the Milan front office/coaching staff will want to continue a good working relationship for the sake of the player.
Yes, but Milan overworked Pulisic last season which led to him missing the most critical preparatory period for Pochettino’s USMNT prior to a home World Cup. Milan is not holding up their end of the bargain and are not keeping a good-faith relationship with the USMNT. It’s more of a disrespectful relationship, honestly. At some point a USMNT coach will have to exert the full force of their power and authority and be willing to piss off a club or two.
There isn't any bargain for Milan to uphold. They aren't obligated to keep players fresh for their national teams. It's silly for them to complain about Pulisic playing for us during a FIFA window, and it's silly for us to complain about him being "overworked" at his club. And Poch has no power or authority to change any of that.
Christian Pulisic went into the window injured. Hence why he didn't play against Ecuador. So yes, Milan is pissy that we played him against Australia. Fine. They can be pissy. Milan pays his salary. That salary is reportedly around 5.6 million per year. If he gets injured playing for somebody else, then they're going to be unhappy. This is like clockwork. Players get injured on international duty. Euro clubs complain vociferously. It settles down. The world continues to revolve. Milan also lost Rabiot to an injury in the window as well after he was injured on France duty. Probably out longer than Pulisic. Probably...................
Clubs are obligated to release players to national teams during FIFA windows. National teams have every right to those players. If Milan wants a good relationship with their best player, they will accommodate him to be able to meet his national team duties. Should they become oppositional, they have no other recourse but to release the player. Pulisic was withheld from starting the opening game of the October window because he came in with an injury. This is unacceptable. Milan should have rested him on their time.
He took the summer off because he was overworked and he has not had his minutes managed at Milan at all this season.
A lot of the other attackers have been injured. It happens. I'd judge them harsher if everyone comes back and he's run into the ground.
In a perfect world. I have no idea who they have on their academy and without CL they have less games, less money and are desperate to get back into CL next year.
Again, clubs have no obligation to keep players fresh for their national team duties. Your opinion about whether that's acceptable or not changes nothing. And statements about what Milan should have done are meaningless absent some ability to make them do it. Nobody, including Poch, has the ability to make them rest their player so that he can be ready to play for a national team that they don't give a shit about. This is all axiomatic.
It sounds like a bad situation for Pulisic if they’re going to ruin his career by working him into the ground and screwing up the most important chunk of his national team career.
You with the authority and reasoning of someone who sounds like they have never been an employee, employer, boss, or soccer player.
I don't think that's the case. Leao is already back. They have way less games because they aren't in CL. It was a temporary blip because of missing a lot of other attacking starters for a few weeks.
I tag Sands with a lot of blame too. That little dink of a clear is where the trouble begins. He'd have been better off it he hadn't touched it at all but just run to stay goalside. Roldan is the least blameworthy of the three IMO. He's scrambling to cover for two guys who've already gotten beat, and he's the only one who tries to put something on his clearance. Yeah, you don't want to put it off the attacker, but he's a little unlucky that it bounced right into his path,. Yeah he reminds me a bit of Temoc Blanco.
Yes, a bit. He's obviously not reached those heights and needs his own signature move to match that hop the Blanco did.
