Am I missing something, or has there been absolutely no coverage of MLS in the USA Today print version in the past week?

I couldn't write last week because a couple of things zapped all my time -- the hockey playoffs were the biggest, but setting up a new MLS/WUSA stats feed took quite a bit of effort as well. I'm sure everyone would agree that the stats feed is a much better use of my time than my column. :)

I'll be back this week, though, possibly today.

I can't speak for the print edition, though. They did run a LOT of soccer on the agate page a couple of times last week, but I don't remember if they managed to get a MLS/WUSA roundup in the paper or not. Now that college hoops season is finally over (unless Roy Williams decides to keep hogging the spotlight with a bid for the job at UNC Greensboro or something like that), more space should open up.

I distinctly recall that the Monday after both league's openers the print issue I saw did not have one single word about either league. I rarely pick up a USA Today but got a freebie that day and was disappointed.

while dure has answered the question for himself and a bit on the paper, why don't people go ahead and send in a request for more coverage to the paper itself?

    Contact the USA Today form

Dont kid about Coach Williams coming to coach at the G-Spot.

We have not had a decent coach since Mike Dement.

I know, I know. It's too bad, because they seemed to be in decent shape when they made that run to the NCAAs a few years ago.

Facilities might play a role. I remember going to my first game there and thinking they could use a new gym. At halftime, they had a dedication ceremony. This WAS the new gym.

    Beautiful soccer stadium, though.

If you thought that that gym was not impressive you must have never seen Park Gym where the used to play.

    But I digress.

I remember that they held a woman's final four in that soccer stadium a while back. It was a good
    showing.
