I want to know what you guys thought about the referees, specifically the linesmen. It's understandable to get one or two offside calls wrong, but there were four, two of which were amazingly bad (Altidore and Casey).

The US has this going for them : Athleticism, defending, camping, and great counterattacking.

The US lacks: Technique, passing, aggressive-attacking.

The Spaniards couldn't crack through your defense and it showed. But will it be this way against Brazil, who are notorious for finding their way in? :D

Probably true -- but with vulvas in the stands tomorrow, might Brasil lay an egg?

    ANYTHING is possible.

We need to only play teams that speak Spanish. Hopefully Portugeese is close enough this next time around (if there isn't another crazy upset that is)!

A brilliant performance typical of American pop culture. Agianst all odds the USA strikes first holds for dear life and finishes Spain 2-0.

Best result since Mexico in WCJK 2002.

Jozy, LD, Duce, and the defense get MOTH.

A brilliant effort one for the ages... Spain looked over confident and then shell shocked....

    USA make world press again...

Great game, amazing win for USA, congratulations :p

The win was a mix of luck, heart, skill and great tactical plan. Most of the time USA made two of Iniesta, Cesc or Xavi to enter the penalty area and one of em was stuck at the center circle, so there was 20 meter gap in the middle of the Spains attack. This forced Spain to switch to crosses who were easy pray for Gooch, Da Merit, Bocanegra. When attacking US made great use of the big boy Jozy and the fast Donovan, Davies and Dempsey... Well, to be fair several times in the game there was the tactical plan was scrapped the US players went to the trenches but they had luck :D

Agreed. Wish they would have started the tournament like that, but no matter. We showed great heart when it counted the most... well we still need to do it one more time.

I watched the game in Germany on German TV and the commented that it should not of been red. Maybe fifa will overturn the Red.

BTW Germany announcers had many nice comments over our play tonight.

Was on the edge of my seat all night
