I'd like to think there is a gamesmanship strategy behind the delay to prevent visiting fans from getting tickets, but unfortunately most of our home fans have to make extensive travel plans also. If Gulati was at the Chicago Gold Cup final he knows how it can get - that was without a doubt a home game for Mexico. Then again, I'm probably giving the USSF too much credit.

wow - Visa only - and not until the last week of January - i trust they've done their research, but this is a bunch of nonsense
It's just a 20 hour presale deal...after that all payments are accepted. Pretty smart actually...When you mention the word VISA to some Mexicans it scares the hell out of them!!
And we all know that those Mexicants don't carry none of those there Visa cards Password presale or just anyone with a visa card? I have not received any email about the sale.
So.... are YOU the 'Ultimate fan'? Looks like it will cost you $1,200 to prove it. ouch! http://images.ussoccer.com/Documents/cms/ussf/2-11-09 MNT v Mexico - UFT1.pdf
Ugh, have you guys seen StubHub? There are friggen listings that specifically say "sam's army section." I doubt they even know what/where this section exists other than it does exist. The map stubhub has isn't even right anymore. So very lame.
Here what it cost for the last year friendly vs. Mexico. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=657660&highlight=soccer+ultimate+fan Talk about inflation
Anyone plan on having an extra SA or AO ticket? I have a group of 3 coming and a 4th just was able to commit after we had ordered tickets. The SA and AO sales are over with so if anyone expects to have an extra ticket from them can you please PM me. This is going to a US fan. If you want proof I can provide it.
Just got word that a business trip the week of February 9th has been indefinitely cancelled. I just checked travelocity and expedia, and there are plently of flights- hotel combo available for reasoable $$$$. If there is someone who has an extra OA or SA ticket. Please let me know.
Love to hear from SA and AO how many tickets sold, Crew supports got capped at 360 with over 400 requested.
I'm looking for one ticket in the SA/AO section. Our group from Champaign has another vocal supporter interested in going. Please PM me. Can prove US fan status if ness.
Crew Supporters would have gone well over 500 if we would have been allowed to, we only were giving the benefit to buy tickets Thursday the 8th so in just under a week we sold over 400 but then got capped at 360....
yeah, I have no doubt about the support with Crew fans, but I would imagine AO, SA were limited to the same # of tickets. With that being said, I think these supporters presale will be stage bleachers, around 1200 seats, the visa presale may sale a supporters section in the Nordeck.
I still find it amazing that US Soccer would show such blatant disregard for the Nordecke and all the Crew Fans...... Its not like they are making anymore money off of selling them to regular patrons. Oh well right? It's USSF... gotta play by their rules I guess.
It's already been said that supporters tickets will only be sold through the supporters groups. There is no reason to cap Crew supporters ticket requests so they can put them up for sale for anyone, including Mexican fans, with a Visa card. I think if you didn't get supporters section tickets and want them now you better hope to find someone selling here or buy from the StubHub listings. Only 6 left there though. Well there is the seller listing 13 GA/GA with "US section" in the notes but based on the listing, verses the other two listings of more reasonable quanity and that specify "SAMS ARMY", I believe this guy to be a short seller expecting to get them in the pre or general sale. You may not get any from him in the end. You'll get your money back but still where you are now.. supporters section ticket-less.
Since AO or SA has never said how many tickets were allotted to them, I would assume that they were given the same amount as the crew were. 360 each group, that is 1080 total for the supporters section or less than 5% of the crowd. Big mistake by USSF if this is true.
