I am sorry, but why in the hell would I want to pay high prices to get horrible seats in an american football stadium when it is almost cheaper to fly to manchester, get good seats and watch a game at Old Trafford. Seriously, it was cheaper for me to buy my membership to ManUtd, my ticket and airfare to manchester from kansas then it will be to buy a decent ticket to game here in america and airfare to the game. WTF! Man I am glad I was able to catch two games at the glorious Old Trafford, much better then meadowlands or seattle. Have fun guys.
IMHO, a better question would be why should any American care about Manchester United touring in the offseason and playing other teams that Americans shouldn't care about? The whole thing is a money grubbing circus and I hope it falls flat.
Why should Americans not care about good soccer? And thought the most expensive tickets for the USA games were about $120. I was under the impression that tickets to watch a game in Old Trafford would have to be reserved years ahead of time, unless your a season ticket holder. thanks
At best you are going to get the team that faced Basel, minus the quality substitutions. It's offseason, nobody is in shape, and there is no reason to risk injury. I saw Newcastle get absolutely manhandled by DC United a few years back in an August game. I could dig up the lineup, but I'm betting it wasn't the one that opened the Premiership, and the football was horrid. Best part of the game was listening to the ex-pats rip on their team. This whole tour is a sad ripoff. How much would Americans pay to watch pre-season MLS games? Offseason football is offseason football; it's going to be bad no matter what the level of the respective leagues.
Nah, you can get tickets pretty easily if you try. You do have to be a member of the club but that is about it. I ordered tickets for the Tottenham game and even received my first seating selection. Was 6 rows up from the pitch on the lower South stands between half and touch lines. Wasnt'that hard. Just try
For last year's Real Madrid-Roma match, both teams used many first team players. I had found the lineups one time, but can't find it now. It's part of a players contract that they have to take part in preseason friendlies or tours like this.
that was roster of players who played in ny last yr REAL MADRID: Casillas; Salgado, Hierro, Helguera, Robert Carlos; Flavio, Cambiasso; Figo, Zidane, Solari; and Morientes. ROME: Pelizzoli; Panucci, Zebina, Samuel, Sartor; Tomic, Emerson, Guardiola, Tommasi; Batistuta and Montella.
There are quite a few people in the US that live in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, or Southern Cal, for whom the games will be much less expensive than travelling to England to see United play.
