either the "sellout" is total BS, or there's a massive clusterf*k getting people in to the stadium... looks like at least 50% of the seats are still empty as the opening ceremonies are happening.

    Halftime: Nobody should be surprised.

Colombia: World class attacking talent combining speed with coordinated effort.

USA: Kick it and hope one of the two fast young kids or past-his-prime Clint Dempsey will do "something".

Not saying it's over, but that's pretty much what the first half looked like to me.

and once Colombia scored, they stopped trying very hard. Not terribly motivated despite the pro-COL crowd

I can't get close enough, but the Chilean team and Alexi Sanchez are sitting in the VIP area next to us.

I'm surprised to see how big James Rodriguez is. He looks bigger than Jermaine Jones.

Yedlin defends like a 5 year old and Jermaine Jones doesn't know which color jerseys the US is wearing.

It seems the Germans are lowered to the American level standard and style of play. They simply can not attack , time their runs or shoot the ball like everyone else in the team.

Ugh, that was like watching the Quakes with the star players all out on international duty or injured.

He keeps picking Wondo and not using him but why? We could have used him on the Quakes and now he is doing neither the USMNT or the Quakes one bit of good. Why does he keep doing it?

The game was pathetic. So were Bradley, Dempsey and Yedlin. The German-Americans weren't any better. I know Columbia is ranked #3 in the world with great players but still, Jurgen has to make major changes if they want to get out of the group.

Looks like Tommy and Fatai were in the stands. Maybe they should have suited up.

At least Pulisic & Wood were entertaining. But definitely Dempsey & Jermaine & Bradley & Guzan were poor.

And getting out of Levis & the blue lot was pretty good

With these kinds of tournaments where you have a bunch of games in a short time period, you want to have different lineups for different games, to rest players. So hopefully he'll see action in one of the upcoming games. Of course, if they play like this, we'll likely get him back before the Quakes play again.

Bradley doesn't seem to do well in the heat. But overall, there were way too many Quakes-worthy moments in that match. Hometown hex rubbing off on the nats?

Yeah, I started to fall asleep and went into a half-asleep hallucinatory state and I swear I saw Shea Salinas out there with the nats shanking crosses. :)

He is supposedly 5'11" but not frail. I guess he is like the Latin American Ronaldo. A bigger guy with littler guy skills.

Clint Dempsey has the most unpleasant disposition and look on his face when he plays. If this is the face of American soccer....barf.

....and a coach who understands tactics, and is an actual leader instead of a politician and salesman.

One is easy to replace....the others take time.
