I can't figure out how much each player will make. Can anyone figure this out? I think it's $315,000 per player so far! What are Bornstein($90,000/year for Chivas), Buddle($180,000/year for LA), Herc($?/year), and possibly Goodson($?/year) thinking right now?!!! Here's the articles link. http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/wo...cord-20-million-bonus-for-winn?urn=sow,245513
I come up with about $244,000 per player as of now (app. $228K plus the $4K per match "appearance fee"), and about $396,000 (including appearance fees) if they beat Ghana.
another reason why USA players are more motivated than a side like England. John Terry makes than in 1 game.
England players donate any money made from the NT to a designated charity. Robbie Findley makes roughly $75k from MLS. He stands to benefit the most, I would imagine.
check out his house in the Studio 90 feature on NT travel. Unless his wife is pulling down some serious money, I think it's safe to say he's doing much better than that now. Also, this is no doubt great money for these guys, especially Jonny B and Robbie, but don't believe for a minute that their MLS salaries are all they make from their careers as professional footballers. Even without a Nike or Gatorade commercial like Landon, those guys are making money on the side.
According to that article, Coulibaly's abomination of a call cost the US players $360,000. They were guaranteed $180,000 for each point earned in qualifying. Go Yanks
I think you right (if you divide by 23). However, as the players will no doubt vote half shares & quarter shares to those players who helped them qualify (like CD & Ching), the pot will likely be divided by a greater number than 23.
You're assuming the USMNT would have beaten Algeria if they had beaten Slovenia (and virtually qualified for the second round with one game to spare). Big assumption.
