They get health insurance like a normal person would from the ussf the insurance that covers an injury during a match is different. The marketing stuff is interesting because they haven't even provided some form of bad math to show they aren't being treated fairly. Coaching salaries is bad because its solely based on the market. Bonuses however can be done differently.
I'd still like to see a comprehensive plan for what "equal" looks like. You guys (addressing the USWNT) want <nebulous idea>, you should define what you think that <nebulous idea> means.
I read the first part of the letter, and it was so vague as to be meaningless, so I stopped reading. Did it get any better? The women have been very, very public on their general aims, but absent on the specifics. There is absolutely no meat on their public pronouncements. I wonder if they are any different in private.
I pretty much did the same thing. I sort of skipped around. The end was very much like the beginning: generalities, no specifics.
They would be foolish to hamstring their attorneys by making any specific demands in public. Look at the way it was pointed out that Morgan's comments on Victory Tour admission fees contradicted the lawyers' allegations in the lawsuit....
Trust me, the lawyers already wrote that statement. There is no way with Mediation pending, that you get a specific public request from any lawyer that knows what they are doing.
I've given you a lawyer's opinion on public negotiations. But you need to be talking to a public relations guy...
I wonder if they do this because they think it will help them, or they do it because it makes them feel good, or because they're famous people and that's just the kind of thing famous people do.
Step 1: Collect Underwear Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit. Clear as mud. We just have to rest assure that the women aren't being paid fairly, it is only because they are women and they need more.
They do use equal pay, not similar pay or equitable pay anymore, maybe they are falling for their own PR.
Give the women exactly what they want. The USSF pays nothing towards their club salary. The USSF pays a per diem when called up, and a per game amount. No one has tenure, or guarantees, or pregnancy leave pay, or a special cut of anything that men do not get. Sometimes, in this mad world, it is best to let madness reap its own reward.
Yes, that is what they seem to want, even if they lose out in a cycle, over most cycles they would get more money. With FIFA going to 40 teams, the chance of the USA not making the WC is even smaller than before, we may miss 2022 since it is still the same as last cycle, but after that, the USMNT should be pretty solid in making the WC. I do not know how a court will rule on pooling the money, I assume they would rule against it, but I do not know.
"I want to have exactly what you have, but I want more than what you have !". That's a credo to live by , alright.
If he's going to ask dumb questions, I will respond in kind. I have read just about everything out there on this, and other than conjecture, I have yet to see where they USWNT have said they want to pool WC money and split it, so if you can find a genuine source that has that information, I would genuinely be interested in reading it.
"Everyone's asking what's next and what we want to come all of this – it's to stop having the conversation about equal pay and are we worth it," Rapinoe said. "What are we going to do about it? Gianni, what are we going to do about it? Carlos [Cordeiro, USFF president], what are we going to do about it? Everyone. It's time to sit down with everyone and really get to work. While not asking directly and maybe not asking on the lawsuit, you can argue she is inferring it.
