Yesterday I faxed in an order for two supporters' section tickets to the USSF. I now see that the charge is coming through my account, so there must still be seats in that section available as of today. Huge house, bigger yard, hot tub, patio, the owners welcome a group of drunken soccer fans and the neighbors are used to the noise! We must fill the house to get this special rate and it’s available until April 15. If you wish to extend your stay the owner may be able to extend the rate but that’s negotiable. There are at least three people who have already expressed an interest so please contact me directly and I’ll put your name on the list (Ed Bazan – Buzahn@aol.com) This is a possible location for a post game party if there is enough interest and there's plenty of room. Option 2 Amerisuites 7922 Mosley Rd. Houston, TX, 77061 713-943-1713 local $69.00 per room for up to four people. Suites include one king or two double beds, pullout sleeper sofa, kitchen area, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, continental breakfast. Call the property direct and ask for the Sam’s Army rate, 15 rooms have been blocked. Note 1: Transportation will be needed to get from either of these locations to Reliant Stadium. Traffic can get ugly so it may be best to arrive early an avoid the madness. Note 2: The Oil Traders Conference (OTC) is being held at Reliant Convention Center the same week as the game. It’s one of the largest international conventions of its kind and is held each year in Houston. Hotel rates are typically higher midweek and even more so in the area around Reliant Stadium due to the convention. Since there are people flying in from out of town the area near Hobby airport was chosen and it’s a quick 15 minute drive to the game. Those of you flying into George Bush airport can expect a 45 minute drive to the stadium if there’s no traffic and there’s always traffic. There are numerous locations to stay but getting an inexpensive rate for a block of rooms is difficult at this time. More Event Info: TBA Our own SA travel expert Tom Flannigan writes: This is a good time of year to be in Houston. It is not too hot yet and the humidity will not kill you. Houston is actually a nice city. Texas barbecue restaurants are all over the place and are excellent. Most are buffets that offer different kinds of barbecue sauce to put on your meats. We only have a couple of places like this in Chicago. Traffic in Houston is awful so keep that in mind when making plans. Local Contacts: Ed Bazan: Buzahn@aol.com Reminder: WEAR YOUR RED!

I've been watching the Continental (shudder) non-stop (RDU-IAH) for a month and it hasn't budged from $263. That would allow me to go to work on the 9th and save a day of vacation. I just can't justify the expense - as much as I'd love to see the game. Grrr. Anybody want to send me their on assignment?
The BWI-HOU flights on SWA were $249.50 as of yesterday, but came up at $222.50 and $225.50 (depending on the flight) today, so that looks like I'll be booking that. Unfortunately, I will have to miss Friday too, though. Looks like I've got a case of the Stars-and-Stripes flu coming on.
airfare we've got a company here in dallas, that tracks airfare nationwide.it is a really easy interface.. www.bestfares.com for us under aa's thumb i do hope they don't go belly up though. that site is worth the cost of membership if you can't find a public fare there..it really could be called atravel agency, but the specialty is low airfares, allways better than trvlocity, exped, hot wire, orbitz, and all others, while thwese may offer a lower on somedays(i doubt it)best fares day-day out is the best.. frank
Re: airfare $204 - not including $30-40 in hidden fees. The fact is the AirTran flights would only save $25 over Continental's non-stops that would save me a day of vacation time.
For those booking flights and who enjoy baseball, the Astros play the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 8th, at 1:05. Game should be over by 3:30-4:00'ish with plenty of time to tailgate (I doubt they will open the parking before 3:30 anyway). Tickets to the Astros games are relatively cheap ($5 for the cheap seats up to $25 for nice seats). The stadium is very nice and worth seeing if your a baseball fan.
Just discussed it and we're driving. It'll take waaaaaaaaay longer, but we'll save much more money...which will allow us to be able to go to the Paraguay game in July
According to today's Houston Chronicle, "more than 40,000" tickets have been sold (which would mean about 40% of the stadium is not yet sold). http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/soc/1887921
or to put a "bush" spin on it.there are only about 20000 tickets left,we anticipate a sellout for this match..so better get your'e tickets soon.according to unnamed sources we have sold over 60% of capacity..these #'s are right on target for our projections..and folks let me reassure you we are not in a recession.while we need a little stimulus(my 750 million taxcut)and if congrees would just gimme my money..we could sell out this match overnite...")")")"))"
i just ordered two sams army section tickets, section 137, throught ticketmaster. which you can reach a 1-713-629-3700
The fact that 137 is released for general sale nay not be a good sign. Unless they sold the original Supporters Section tickets in the back of the section, we could have people behind the Supporters Section that now expect to sit, having bought them through Ticketmaster with no warning.
************ 'em. I'm more worried about seeing El Tri fans in Sam's Army's section than worried about American fans bitching about our standing. Besides, with over 50,000 tickets being sold so far, the energy will be high enough that quite a few people will probably be standing anyway.
