    US vs Canada Viewing party?

Since the game is on PPV (18 January @ 4:30pm PT), anyone up for getting a group together and convincing one of the Brit's that it's worthwhile for them to broadcast this game?

I'm in! Let me know if you want me to make phone calls or whatnot.

I'm thinking maybe the downtown Brit will be the easiest to work with. They seem to have been very accommodating last season.

    Count me in, too...
And tell them that Alexi is coming - so they have to have more beer in stock than they usually do :)

That would be cool if someone could set this up. I'm starting to have soccer dreams, which must be my subconscious' way of warning that I am in soccer deprivation.

As for beer, since science tells us that it is good for us (this week anyway), let's drink up our 12 ounces!

Since the match will be on PPV, how much will the cover charge be?

Well, that's something that's gonna have to be found out later. When we figure out where we're going and someone makes a call.

You better watch out! I'm pretty good with those gigantic, transparent soccer balls.

Good ahead and call. Let us know what they say. If they're not too gung ho, maybe a few phone calls from several other folks will convince them.

Okay, I'll give them a call early next week sometime. Probably Tuesday.

In the meantime, anyone who wants to go and hasn't posted, please post here to express your interest. I want to be able to give them a good idea of how many people will be there.

    Tanks!

Guess if it's at the downtown Brit, count two more of us in.

There's a home Sharks game that night at the Tank anyway (v. Dallas at 7:30), so those of you with nothing to do should make it a doubleheader...especially since we'll be watching footy in Owen Nolan's bar first.

    Thanks.

Put me down for a tentative...SJSU plays some hoops that night so I'll need to keep my vocal chords in line...and the way I've been screwing up announcements maybe a couple of pre-game adult beverages may prove beneficial.

After the team changed from the Clash to the Quakes I always expected that at least once you'd slip up and call 'em the Clash, but you never did. That's pretty good, especially since you announce for different sports too. :)

The one I really have to concentrate on is not calling the C-Rays the Earthquakes...especially after they started calling them selves by the "San Jose" handle. I have to really think when I'm introducing them, and I deliberately change rhythm of how even I say San Jose when I'm working with them just so I don't get mixed up.

The "San Joseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" stays with us!
