Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Has the location been confirmed by US Soccer? I thought it was still TBA..
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 For real??? Anyone have a link that even mentions this? I'm just shocked, but excited, that they would play there.
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Don't you know you should never question the BigDog? You might get bitten!
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Thats a good stadium for the game . It will be similar to the USA - Colombia match in fullerton in March . Hopefully there will be more USA fans this time ...
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 pretty cool stadium been there before should be an all-us sell out
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Except for all the Canadian newscasters and comedians in LA that may go down there, I don't think we have to worry about a pro-Canadian crowd..
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 haha thats good . I cant wait .. US- canada then US - norway all within one week
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Interesting choice, if true!! I would've bet $$ that the Canada game would be in Seattle or Portland but I guess the possible weather problems are too much to overlook. Already going to the Norway & Japan friendlies but might have to try to make it to San Diego. Never been there & it's a GREAT reason to go...to see the USMNT pound the Canucks!!
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Are you **********ing kidding me??? We don't have enough room.... I've said before if they add some stands we could get it up around 12,000 or so, but seriously I think capacity right now is 7,500 MAX. And parking - don't make me laugh. The only reason we have some nice stands on the east and south sides is because the Spirit WUSA team played here. Luckily USD is not in session until 8 days later... But I won't be here then
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Here's some pics I took a while back - of course it isn't this sunny in January P.S. theres a stand below these pictures that you can't see - ideally the Sams Army section...
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 I still can't believe this is true. What's next? Pearl Jam is playing The Casbah this month?
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 The stadium will be a little tight but it should be a sell out and have a pretty good atmosphere , dont want to use a huge stadium and only sell half the seats ...
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 Torero Stadium? Damn, I was just there in September for a college football game -- saw my Ivy League team get crushed by USD. The seats behind the one end zone were great, full of rowdy USD students with "Yuck Fale" signs. Those seats would be perfect for Sam's Army. (The other end does not have any seats.)
Re: US-Can Location San Diego 1-22-06 I saw the story on MLSnet.com. I guess it was announced in LA yesterday at the Symposium sponsored by Honda, where Keller got his POY award. Too busy to look it up now. I'll be there with many friends. Torero is a great place to see a game! And the weather will be sunny and in the 70's. I guess we're trying to unnerve the Cannucks!
